hear me out: girl talk night

does anyone know any bar/dj in logan who can host a Girl Talk night wherein they just play every Girl Talk album, no skips, from 2004-2010? (and feed the animals twice; if necessary) i think this could heal the millennials. thanks 4 yr consideration šŸ™

ETA: event ppl ā€¦. plsā€¦. we clearly need thisā€¦ look at the demand

Girl Talk at Pitchfork 2007 was soooooooo incredible. I'll never forget it

Oh no, and now we realize that Girl Talk's popularity was exactly 20 years ago, so due for the nostalgia cycle resurgence. Good point, time to bring it back

His pivot to scoring stuff makes a ton of sense. I'd forgotten he did Task until one of the episodes about halfway through when I remembered it was him. So good.

i did a shot with dan deacon when he was in my college town playing a show. he came to one of our party houses for an after party and was such a cool dude

I saw him 3 times in small venues (a club in NYC for a SPIN magazine event and 2 college event halls) in '08/'09 and got on stage to dance twice. The first college show almost got shut down because the stage was buckling from the number of people dancing. When I got off stage in NYC my white shirt had someone's blood on it. His vibe is so impeccable. Pure pandemonium but wholesome and life-affirming. The closest I've come to that feeling since is King Gizzard, and I think it has a lot to do with their mastery of different genres and mash-up jams at shows. Gregg, we need you. Come to Chicago, sell out Radius.

ughhhh like i want to feel like it would be, but the last time i was there for an ā€œindie niteā€ (which i assumed might be more like indie sleaze adjacent) they were playing blink182 and billie eilish šŸ«Ŗ and i also felt like the oldest person there by at least 8 years lol. speaking of, in general - i have yet to go to an ā€œindie niteā€ in chicago that is actually good. the one at beauty bar sucks too. like i just want to give them my 2015 ipod with my ā€œCRAZY PARTY FUCK 08-09ā€ (this is real btw) and be like.. here u go.

Be the change you want to see! Host a GT listening party at your local spot. This sounds like something that would fit Motherā€™s Ruin for a charity event. Letā€™s save puppies and rock some crazy mashups in one night.
