Bit of a niche question. I’m trying to put together a simple photo booth with gear I already own: an S5II and a Windows laptop.

LUMIX Tether sees the camera over USB right away. I also tried MirrorlessBooth v1.1.6, but it only showed the laptop webcams, not the S5II. Most of the other photo booth software I’ve found seems to focus on Canon, Nikon, or Sony.

Has anyone here actually used a Lumix for this, either at an event or in a DIY setup? What software and connection did you use?

I mainly care about USB live view, capture/download speed, and whether the connection stays reliable for a few hours. I’m not looking for another camera compatibility list — I’m hoping to hear from someone who has actually tried it.

Going to check out an s5 today with a 20-60mm Lumix S Series lens, priced at 950 usd. First time checking out anything mirrorless, I’ve mostly just shot on a canon dslr. Anything to look out for/ check in particular?

Hi I am wanting to buy another camera for more content creations. What I want this camera to do is be able to take good pictures and videos. The type of content I am planning to do is cooking videos, travel, unboxing, and product reviews. I want a camera that is not heavy that I can travel with. I want this camera to be at most around $800 since this camera will focus more on cooking videos.

The reason why I don’t want to use the camera I have is because to me it’s heavy for travel and I don’t necessarily feel comfortable in the sense of using it for cooking videos if that makes sense

Which of those two kits would you recommend? In my country the price of both kits is about equal.

I do not have the budget for s1ii unfortunately.

Hey guys! Just wrapped up this music video for a national rap artist here in Brazil and wanted to share the results and technical choices with the community.

My goal was to create a very raw, gritty, and atmospheric look to match the song's lyrics. Here is the breakdown of the setup and creative choices:

Framing & Visual Identity: I decided to shoot 100% of the video on a tripod with a single lens: the vintage Canon FD 24mm F2.8. I wanted to create a "frame/canvas" aesthetic where the camera stays static, observing the artist moving and tearing through the scenery. The wide perspective of the 24mm brought a dramatic distortion that integrated the artist into the massive abandoned railway scenery.

Resolution & Texture: Shot in 6K Open Gate 3:2 (H.265 10-bit). This allowed me to capture the full vintage character of the lens (subtle vignette and softer edges). For motion texture, I locked the Shutter Angle at 90°. This tighter shutter eliminated the traditional motion blur, bringing a very crisp, aggressive, and realistic feel to every frame.

Aperture & Exposure: Kept the lens between f/5.6 and f/8 for maximum environment detail and texture. I used a Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 1/8 to soften the contrast and get organic halation from the sunset light.

I took a cruise with my wife to Costa Maya, Roatán and Cozumel, I picked 20 of my favorite pics to upload, I took many more. Shot RAW + FINE and used a variety of my own LUT's or some known ones like Ross's Aerochrome IV or his Portramax. I can upload more pics in the comments and let you know what LUT's or Photo Styles were used. 18-40mm lens.

I’m getting the following two deals for about the same price (~2200 usd)
Lumix S5ii + 24-60mm f2.8
Nikon Z6iii + 24-70mm f4

I know about all the differences but still can’t decide which one to get. My use-case is mostly taking pretty photos and videos of ourselves and the surroundings on our vacations. I don’t imagine extreme usecases like shooting very long videos or sports/wildlife.

Which lens ecosystem should I buy into as I’m starting fresh? Sony A7V is significantly more expensive (~2500 usd for body only).
I plan to keep only one lens for now and get more lenses later as needed. How limiting is f4 compared to f2.8 practically speaking? It’s older as well, but it’s a S lens.
Which one do you recommend overall?

Differences that made sense to me:
Lumix: Stabilization, Open Gate, comes with one-and-done f2.8 lens
Nikon: Better built (as per reviews), un-cropped 4k60p

Thinking of a new camera. Currently have a GX85 and like it. I haven’t used it much over the years after purchasing it several years back but the last couple years I’ve been using it a bit more. I have a decent set of lenses, including a 19 mm sigma, a 25 mm Lumix, a 50 to 150 zoom lens, and the standard 11 to 42 kit lens. I mainly use my two prime lenses and when needed my zoom lens.

I’m considering upgrading to the G9II and potentially purchasing the kit with the Leica 12-60. I’m curious what people’s opinions are on this versus what I have right now I enjoy my GX 85 for being relatively compact, but I don’t really need it much to be relatively compact. For day-to-day I just use my iPhone 17 Pro Max so when I’m actually in need of my better camera, I don’t really care if it’s slightly larger for the times when I need to bring it to an event with my kids or someplace where it might prove more useful than my iPhone.

Would this be an upgrade that I would really benefit from? I mainly shooting photos. I don’t do much video so I don’t think there’s a huge need for the GH series.

Hi I am currently in need of a flash unit and stuck between these two. Can anyone give me a recommendation? Portability isnt the most important for me since I have a bag to store it all in. Thank you

Been playing around with color modes and LUTs using the shack in our garden as reference. Liked these two the best. I think I'm going to grab my bike and go for a little photo tour this weekend to dial in my LUTs before my vacation in november. Very happy with the L10.
