I'm confused how Belsito is a progressive yet getting max out from Trump appointees and former Lockheed Martin Execs?
If Jamie is so progressive, why are former Trump appointees like James Byrne (also a former Lockheed Martin Exec) maxing out donations to Belsito? Also former republican State Senate Candidate Erin Calvin-Bacci who gave a large dollar donation? And like there's multiple other big name republicans that have donated to this run and her previous runs... concerningly.
I looked into her because someone said she was a progressive, but it looks like the only actual progressives are Beth Andres-Beck, Tram Nguyen, and Mariah Lancaster. Also she's a former Raytheon employee who backed a republican and said "well he's gay" as an excuse? I'm like so confused by all of this. It feels like a grift and I'm worried people are falling for it.

Putting out feelers for an art swap!
Hi all! I'm a local small artist, I do screenprinting and fiber crafts, and I'm wondering if anyone would be up for an art swap this fall. For example, I'd bring some patches and pins and crochet and you might bring a small bracelet and we could swap them to share our art styles and get to meet some new people! I'm thinking of having it at a public park in either Lynn or Danvers so our friends in Salem could escape the tourists. Let me know if you're interested! If it's only a few people we could organize something much smaller :)

Transit Companies at it Again...
In addition to constituting at least 70% of the unnecessary traffic in Lynn by aimlessly driving around all day, local transit companies are colluding with one another to rip the City off... When will the City provide its own school busses rather than outsourcing to private fraudsters?? Take a look the next time you drive around; 1 out of every 4 cars on the road is an empty transit company vehicle driving around on a state or municipal contract. The entire industry is a scam. You won't be able to unsee it. It doesn't surprise me at all to hear that NRT is at the heart of all of this...

Question about Public Schools Dress Code
Hi everyone,
I recently accepted a teaching job with Lynn public schools, and I wanted to see if anyone who has experience here could answer something about the culture. I run extremely warm, and I am unsure if it would be acceptable to wear a nice pair of shorts while teaching, especially if there is no AC. The handbook says there is no formal dress code but that you should dress professionally. Any thoughts? I am also going to ask HR when I fill out my forms but I thought I would ask here as well

Barber shop recommendations
Just moved to the area and looking for recommendations.
Looking to get a fade/ shape up with a beard trim for hopefully not too much money. Preferably someone familiar with wavier hair. Bonus points if they offer style input.

Pottery Class registration opens tomorrow (Fri Aug 14)
The pottery studio in the Pinkham Building on Western Ave is opening their fall class registration tomorrow morning! Info: https://www.theclayschool.com/adult-classes
It normally sells out pretty quickly so wanted to share. This is a great place to make friends and you get 24/7 studio access to work on projects, which is a huge perk AND a plus for hanging out with people in your class.

Cookbook club
Hi! I've been trying to meet more people in the area and want to try an idea I have. It's a small group cooking through one book together, beginning with Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. I love cooking with and for others, and have also been on a personal journey to improve my skills. I thought it'd be a fun format for getting to know folks.
Rough plan is biweekly evenings with a small group aimed at folks in their 20s and 30s. We'll meet up in September to say hi and pick a night that works, then start cooking in late October. If it sounds interesting, you can sign up at cookwith.jdoc.me
Happy to answer questions here too

Was there ever an arcade in downtown Lynn?
For some reason, i have this vague memory of seeing an arcade with games in the building in Lynn and I genuinely can’t verify if it did exist or didn’t. I also remember begging my dad to go there but he was like “nah”. So i tried google mapping it on the street where i thought to have seen it but i can’t remember for the life of me
