Tony Fernandez with power will be endgame, his swing is butter

6

u/lifeofwill 13h ago

This is only Dontrelle's 2nd 99 since being added as a legend, and the only other was set 1 in '23

7

u/sfgiantsfan696969 Diamond 11h ago

The team is really completely out of ideas aren’t they

1

u/TRLJM 9h ago

They don't have the rights for any new legends lol

8

u/MasPisco 14h ago

99 Fernandez straight into my veins

6

u/DrinkPepsiPlease 13h ago

Damn I don’t play multiplayer but want that Fernandez

6

u/Same_Breadfruit_4715 13h ago

Eventually, all of them except for whoever is last, will be Quick Sell (5,000 stubs).

3

u/ketelmarteburner 12h ago

He'll be cheap, it looks like he's the first card in the program so he'll be quicksell by later today

12

u/Front-Smile538 14h ago

Anything but a postseason or rookie card

2

u/bodnast katoph 11h ago

We are beyond the point of them introducing rookie cards. Who’s getting a 97+ rookie besides a ROTY guy? They’ll just get an awards card for it.

It’s why the old BR system with them introducing various silvers and golds every few weeks was neat. We got cards from all card series every so often

u/Front-Smile538 3h ago

Fully understand that. It’s just annoying that the rookie collection for Beltran requires 100K for one 91 overall card that is obviously not useable at this point. You’ll have cards like that here and there, but would be nice if they threw us a bone with just one cheap rookie card. Milestone in particular is already highly saturated with very easy to get cards, and we get even more of them.

I guess I'm the only one hyped about throwing ole Ronnie at third. But I AM a Cubs Fan so there's that.

3

u/Ok-Kick1878 9h ago

I'm thrilled that he's getting a 99!

  • also a Cubs fan

u/TemporaryBottle8789 14h ago

Tony Fernandez is the most underrated card in the game

5

u/OKporkchop 14h ago

I run a jays theme team and he's my best hitter. I'm stoked about this 99.

2

u/TemporaryBottle8789 13h ago

Same dude, both his 88 and 94 crush for me and he’s the best defensive SS in the game

2

u/Comfortable-Ad7287 13h ago

Still use his Summer card with the contact + speed mod

9

u/SoCalCognac Gold 14h ago

Never met a Johnny Bench card that I didn’t like. Solid right handed swing and can play many different positions. He should also be one of the best defensive cards at catcher.

3

u/lifeofwill 13h ago

His card earlier this year hit nukes for me

4

u/TehLoneWanderer101 14h ago

I'm about to buy my ticket to the D-Train 😎😎😎

4

u/55Trample 14h ago

Feel like there’s a lot of competition for 2B.

4

u/AquatheGreat 13h ago

I'm pleasantly surprised they gave Fernandez another card. Should be a really fun card. Santo and Fernandez carries this program.

4

u/Acegolfer04 10h ago

Lets go Willis

3

u/TallBobcat 14h ago

OK. Now time for SDS to bring me 99 Joe Morgan.

2

u/Humble-Cook-6126 13h ago

I just dont see the time for them to give us some of the greats. Griffey, Ruth, Gerhig, Clemente, Morgan, Robinson (Jackie & Brooks) Gibson, Campanella, goodness the list goes on

4

u/ketelmarteburner 12h ago

There absolutely is time to give them all 99s, they will never not give guys like Griffey and Ruth 99s

But they should've dropped at least some of them by now

1

u/Humble-Cook-6126 8h ago

I mean, technically of course there is. But the season is nearly over and the majority of the player base will move on soon.

Seems like a silly decision.

3

u/Qoppa_Guy Common 13h ago

Fernandez looks fun, Soriano is going to be nasty

3

u/bigpinero46 13h ago

Welcome to the team Soriano

3

u/ryboyin99 12h ago

Sucks that other than Soriano, these are not very valuable for the gaps in the Beltran collection.

2

u/pa_jamas360 11h ago

How many switch hitters? Did they forget that’s what they do

2

u/ketelmarteburner 11h ago

Fernandez and Pendleton

2

u/OkOccasion6238 11h ago

I mash with Alphonso so that’ll play

2

u/BigvalBROski 8h ago

Johnny bench cards always suck

u/MrBurnerHotDog Bronze 5h ago edited 5h ago

"Mom can we get Ozzie Smith?"

"We already have Ozzie Smith at home"

Tony Fernandez

Edit: I'm not saying a single negative thing about Fernandez, so put down your pitchforks. It's just they released that end-game elite Smith a few days ago and now this Fernandez who is about 98% as good as that Smith card, hence the meme reaction

u/Sidney_Godsby 1h ago

….who are you talking to in your pitchforks edit?
There is no other reply to your comment but this one.

4

u/lunarfaze 13h ago

I hate mp. 😢

4

u/ketelmarteburner 12h ago

They will all be under 10k within 2 weeks, the first couple cards in the path will be under 10k later today most likely

2

u/Ok-Kick1878 11h ago

Do you know which ones are early in the path?

I'm assuming it's lower row in the image, but SDS has never really adhered to traditional logic, especially when it comes to their promotional/ social media material.

2

u/ketelmarteburner 11h ago

I assume it'll be Fernandez - Santo - Bench - Willis - Soriano since they'll put the more desirable cards last

So Fernandez and Santo will be quicksell like an hour after they drop

1

u/Ok-Kick1878 9h ago

Makes sense

Thanks for the reply

3

u/TheFirstLanguage 14h ago

Fernandez will again have a 90+ steal rating despite being an awful base-stealer for his profile (67.6% in 1986, 64.1% for his career), while Buxton has the highest SB% in history (90.5%) and got a 21 for his ASG card.

4

u/ZacBank 13h ago

I will not tolerate Fernandez slander.

1

u/TemporaryBottle8789 12h ago

Fernandez has twice as many career SB and Buxton has slowed down a ton.

1

u/StatisticianNew4792 13h ago

So what? You think Ozzie Smith should have high 80’s power? Or that the pipeline kids should be 98’s and 99’s?

It’s a fantasy mode. If you want realism, don’t play DD. None of these players have stats reflected of their careers. It’s all about themeta and are made up

-2

u/TheFirstLanguage 13h ago

You're missing the point.

u/FactUpstairs1127 52m ago

These cards are sweet, not as cool as ones on whatnot. Click my link for some free credit to get some baseball cards https://whatnot.com/invite/thejarcards

1

u/t3webb 14h ago

Wonder if Soriano still going to swing like he is underwater

u/brendancushley05 7h ago

can’t wait for tony

-1

u/FederalArmy4485 13h ago

Well now people are going to use Dontrelle again just like is Rookie of the Year Card because of his release.

8

u/RemyThaGr8 13h ago

Ok and the point of the cards is to use them lol

5

u/Humble-Cook-6126 13h ago

So 🤷‍♂️

-5

u/Ok_Search5777 13h ago

Alfonso Soriano in Yankees jersey is criminal

4

u/_denimchicken_ PlayStation 13h ago

More WAR with the Yankees than any other team. Same amount of years played as with the Cubs

But i agree, would have been nice to mix it up with another team. Maybe give him 40/40 Milestone with the Nats and give Dontrelle the Signature. A Teal Marlins Signature would look sick

2

u/Ok_Search5777 12h ago

Played in 198 more games in the blue pinstripes + only 3 years with yanks where he played over 100 games.

2

u/_denimchicken_ PlayStation 12h ago

Randy Johnson spent 2 more years with Seattle and started 30 more games than any other team, and yet what team do you associate with him?

Soriano was a productive Cub, 100%, and i appreciate Cubs fans’ appreciation for him. But he was more hype as a Yankee, both in the beginning of his career and in that insane swan-song week in 2013 when he came back. Plus SDS prob wanted him as a primary 2B instead of a primary LF and with better Stealing stats

3

u/Ok_Search5777 11h ago

I can appreciate that Randy Johnson point + you’re probably right about SDS wanting him at 2nd

And to be honest, I was too young to understand his early career hype as a yankee so I only think of him in his boomer-yankee-years.

2

u/_denimchicken_ PlayStation 11h ago

Fair!

He was traded 1 for 1 with A-Rod and they were the same age. Salary dumping aside, thats the level of hype he had

5

u/OkOccasion6238 11h ago

He’s more Yankee than cub

-6

u/LeGhost45 10h ago

More uncs, booo!

4

u/Large_Paramedic_4567 9h ago

What do you mean? Lol we have had nothing but current people, prospects and minor leaguers lately. Thankfully they finally released some actual legends, have a lot more to go this year.

u/MrBurnerHotDog Bronze 5h ago

I don't know what an "uncs" is but yeah I'm with you. Their recent big set that we waited a long time for was incredibly boring and easy to complete and is just a bunch of guys that if even half of them make it to the majors in their career it'll be a really good class

I like having guys I know in the game, not potential guys I might someday know

u/TehLoneWanderer101 4h ago

Uncs means older people. I think. I'm 38 so I think I'm approaching Unc?
