Looking for accommodation
Hi, I’m new to MTSU masters student from India. I’m coming to university this week. Looking for accommodation or any 1BHK affordable around 700$ any suggestions or anyone willing to share 1BHK would also be fine. Which is the better option. Any advice would be appreciated.

Try college pointe or college place apartments very close to MTSU. It’s under the budget . You will have your own room and bathroom but share the kitchen and living room with other roommates . A lot of mtsu Indian students live there. You will have your own lease rather than sharing with others. One more option is Albion but there leasing options are shared between each other rather than individual lease

Albion can also be a little weird on whether or not they'll combine incomes to meet the 3x rule for the apartment. They went through multiple management changes while I was there and it was kind of messy and everything was inconsistent.

Sadly friend, the Boro has grown significantly over the years with people from larger states moving in, and a ton of other factors to consider, that has really made the city unaffordable. A roommate or 2 will be your best bet.

You will be in Tennessee. Watch out for ICE.

Why ? I’m a legal immigrant any problem with ICE. ?

There were some legal immigrants attending MTSU that the school had to ask to leave, DHS “notified” the school that their visas were revoked. Just a way to boost their numbers. Just be careful is all.

You are not going to find a one bedroom apartment for $700 in Murfreesboro. You MIGHT find a studio for that IF and only if you’re lucky with the semester starting today. I have a small 1 bedroom and it costs me SIGNIFICANTLY more than $700 a month. You might find a shared apartment if you call around to some of the complexes that do individual leasing and seeing if they have any available rooms left for this year or if you check some of the MTSU or Murfreesboro apartment groups on Facebook.
