Bug 10Gbit TB users beware

I have now tried 4 different 10GbitE thunderbolt adapters and they all cause the same problem on my M5Pro macbook all the way to beta 7

-> computer will hard lock after a few minutes, maybe ~30 sometimes 1 hour, no kernelpanic no nothing just freeze and hard reset

-> at this point the network in my whole office!! is going down for a few seconds like it must be sending something super bad to my switch .

Super bad, i reported it to Sonnet and OWC as well.

Have you tried Caldigit? In my experience their thunderbolt products are great.

dont have one around - I suspect its the ethernet chipset as usually sonnet is super solid

I have a M4 Mini, and a NEO. Also a 2017 MBP 13in. I have used with out issues multiple USB and TB based ethernet adapters with zero issues.
I currently use the Ubiquiti 10Gig USB Adapter (Marvell AQC113), and previoulsy their 5Gig USB adapter (Realtek RTL8157).

I also have older TB3 based NIC adapters, no longer sold.
Older chipsets. Still had no issues other than they run quite hot.

on a ubiquity switch?? interesting i tried it on 2 machines now with beta and they alm cause horrific crashes, no problem with 2.5G or woth ventura...

If you keep having the SAME issues across various adapters, either its that specfic chipset they use (if they all the same, they often are) or you need to use one with a different chipset.
Could also be your cable.
Get a proper TB cable, test it with a cable tester even.
Also, it can't be too long. Anything more than 6ft is very questionable for relaiblity. It has to be a very good quality and proper made to spec cable to be reliable at longer lengths.

Could also be network side. Your switch and/router that is causing some hard lock or state that makes MacOS freeze. Check your network devices switches and router logs for issues. If you have managed equipment, like Ubiquiti, very easy and they have detailed insights into things. If unmanaged, and a consumer router, your pretty limited.

If it not cable issues, or network side issues, then its certainly software or app issues that is causing your issues.
I would suggest you start fresh, wipe clean and start with a stock OS, if it stable then, it has to be a software issue or conflict with something you installed, and not the NIC adapter it self or MacOS.

the cable on the sonnet is fixed btw . but ive tried 2 original apple TB5 cables on the OWC dock with the same result

I need to check chipsets between the 2, i use the same adapter on all kinda of macs on the same switch just fine just started cuaisbg issues on the beta for me ( i develop apps so i have multiple macs with multipke different macOS versions)

i have never seen a device just outright killing the switch this hard and then locking up completely

Unifi shows no issue but everyone on the switch gets a brief disconnect , its wild
