Help! Problems with Norwegian Pattern Knitting
Hello. I always get a lot of help from this community.
My Brother KH-940 knitting machine keeps dropping stitches when I’m knitting a Norwegian pattern. I don’t have this problem at all when knitting without a pattern. I thought it might be a problem with the sponge bar, so I replaced it, but it didn’t help... It happens most often when moving the carriage from right to left, but it also occurs occasionally when moving from left to right. Are there any other solutions I should try? Could it be a problem with the carriage? I’ve been unable to solve this issue for several months now, and I feel like I’m about to lose my mind... Thank you in advance.

What happens when you select thread lace?
(For that one, the “thread” is knit everywhere and your “main yarn” only when in pattern… you’ll probably need to ease up on your tension)
But if you find the B yarn is missing stitches that might be a helpful clue.
Even before that though, I would run the carriage without any yarn to make sure all the needles are getting selected properly. It’s probably not the issue… but it’s a simple double check.

Have you tried knitting other patterns to see if that works okay?
It looks like the pattern does work for some 10 rows and then messes up, is that right? Is this one of the patterns that comes with the machine?

Do all your latches move easily? Are all the correct needles getting selected? Are the selected needles going through the correct path set in carriage?
