DPS troubleshooting

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve had this setup working at my last rental, (with the exception of the occasional blown fuse from high inrush amps upon startup) have acquired slow blow fuses for my shutoff switch since. I upgraded to the next size DPS from this same company and had my electrician set it up the same way.

Not an electrical guy but I would say you aren't getting enough juice to the machine. Do you run a transformer?

Using a cheap digital phase converter. I read they could work with low hp applications.

I have used rotary phase converters and found them to be reliable. All are supplying 5hp motors, one each. You buy the model that matches the motor to be used.

Any brands you would recommend?

I have one home brewed and two "American Rotary" brand. I ran three 1990s Hurco knee mills on them. For about 20 years. They all still work well. No problem running them simultaneously on a 100 amp single phase meter.
