You're gonna freak out when you figure out that humans are basically mutated primates.

Not exactly. We’re no more mutated than any of the other great apes. Humans, chimps, gorillas, bonobos and orangutans all evolved from a shared ancestor who was not any closer to being an orangutan than a human. We like to think of ourselves as special and different from the other apes, but we’re not.
