Food A Bad Stomach Day in Mandrid

Upvotes

I was really looking forward to spending the day exploring madrid but after dinner last night my stomach started feeling off. By morning i had cramps, nausea and basically no appetite. Nothing too serious but enough to make walking around the city feel like a bad idea.

The majority of the time i spent here in my hotel room has just been relaxing. staying hydrated and eating light. it's irritating because i have only a few days left here and i didn't want to waste a day being ill.

any person that has experienced problems with their stomach while travelling in Mandrid then how do you usually cope? Any simple tips for getting back on your feet or finding basic medical advice if it does not improve?

Miscellaneous Update: Please help, ended up going to Hospital Jiménez Díaz and the doctor is being rude and dismissive.

I made a post earlier asking for hospital recommendations for heart issues and shortness of breath. I asked my hostal which one nearby is close and reputable, and they sent me here. They charged me €400 in the door and said I could get certain tests, waited hours and once I saw the doctor he was incredibly dismissive. Just listened to my lungs and said everything is fine and I can go.

I told him the person at the initial desk told me I would get a list of tests like blood oxygen, blood test, ecg, etc before I agreed to pay, doctor shut me down and said that they don’t do those things and I was told wrong, in a tone like this was my mistake or misunderstanding.

I am very uncomfortable with this guy and don’t feel like I am getting taken seriously. Is there anything I can do at this point to get serious help?

Accommodation Recomendaciones para nuestro viaje

¡Hola!

Miscellaneous Best Madrid hospital emergency room for EU citizen without an EHIC?

Visiting and been having some weird heart palpitations and trouble breathing, wondering what the best ER is for someone who’s an EU passport holder (Italy) but doesn’t have an EHIC because I’m currently residing outside of the EU? I have health insurance but I don’t believe it covers much abroad (one of the shitty US high deductible plans from a private insurer). Thanks in advance.

Food Mocktail bars or restaurants?

Hola todos! I’m visiting Madrid in a few weeks. I lived there for a year a few years ago, but back then I was not sober :).

I know Spain is super forward with NA options, but wanted to see if there were any mocktail bars or good restaurants with drink options.

I know there’s a ton of NA beer, but hoping for some other options if anyone has any recs :)

Accommodation Private apartment in Valdebebas for Madrid F1 weekend – 5 min walk from MADRING

Hi! I live in Valdebebas, very close to the new MADRING circuit, and I'm considering making my private apartment available during the Madrid F1 weekend (September 10–13).

It's a modern one-bedroom apartment with a private terrace, around a 5-minute walk from the circuit.

The building also has a swimming pool and gym.

I'm mainly looking for one responsible F1 fan travelling to Madrid for the Grand Prix.

If you're coming to Madrid for the race and are still looking for accommodation close to the circuit, feel free to send me a private message and I can give you more information.

Also any people who want to join? I’m traveling from Barcelona on Tuesday.

Age 20-35 (I’m in the middle haha)

I’m a designer by profession. I like aesthetics, history, any sports or good talk. I don’t drink but like techno.

Also suggestions on where to live and places which I should not miss as 1st time traveler.

Thanks ❤️

Transportation Commuting from Leganés to city centre for a week. Best transport option?

I will be based in Leganés near C5. I have an event in the centre meaning I need to go there and back everyday for a week.

Is it best to just pay out of pocket and buy single trips on the cercanias? Or is there a weekly commuter pass that’d be more economical?

Thanks for your help.

Transportation Question about transport from Madrid to Toledo and Segovia

Hello! Is the best way to get from Madrid to Toledo still the Avant train out of the Atocha station? And is the best way to get to Segovia the bus from Moncloa via avanzabus.com? How many days ahead should we book those tickets? It looks like you need to book times for each leg and can’t get a flexible round trip ticket. Thank you!

Transportation How long to leave between train and Flixbus

I'm travelling from Barcelona to Madrid by train and then taking a Flixbus departing from Madrid South bus station. I can see that it's a 30 min walk from Atocha to the bus station, or one stop on the metro. How long is a safe buffer for this trip? I'm looking at a RENFE train arriving at 11.44 with a Flixbus departure of 12.55. Are AVEs often late? Feels like there should be plenty of time but I would prefer not to miss the bus! Also not sure if Flixbus has a required check-in time as I can't find anything about it on the website. Thanks!

Accommodation Where to stay in Madrid for a first-time visit?

I’m traveling to Madrid in November for a few days and would love some advice on where to stay. Which areas would you recommend for a first-time visitor who wants to explore the city and have easy access to the main sights? Also, I’d like to take a day trip outside Madrid. Is Toledo the best option, or are there other places you’d recommend?

Tour Experience The "Inclusive Love" Tour At The Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum.

The Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum’s "Inclusive Love" thematic tour explores more than five centuries of Western art through stories of LGBTQ+ identity, desire, and self-expression. As a self-guided permanent audio tour, it reframes familiar masterpieces to reveal queer narratives that have long existed alongside the heteronormative narratives so commonly portrayed in art. Visitors who engage with the tour can explore the museum in its entirety, with "Inclusive Love’s" work featured throughout.

Transportation Assuming a flight landed on time at 1:30pm, do you think they'd be any issue getting to Charmartin for a 4:15pm train?

It's a direct flight to should be on time. I have a small-ish checked bag, which I could probably put in the cabin, if I needed to

Landed in T4, I know the C-trains run direct to the airport.

Feels like I should be able to make that without too much drama, no?

What do you think?
