I keep thinking about how crazy a modern Mafia game set around something like the Camorra in Naples could be.
Not the usual “rise from nobody to kingpin” fantasy where you buy suits, collect exotic cars, and become untouchable by the end. I mean something closer to Gomorrah—dirty apartment blocks, alleyways you can barely drive through, scooters everywhere, kids acting as lookouts, families tied into everything, and nobody really feeling safe even when they’re supposedly in charge.
The tone would have to be bleak. You shouldn’t feel like a superhero criminal. You’d be making money, gaining influence, maybe running a crew, but every decision would make your life smaller and more paranoid. Someone gets arrested, a rival crew moves into your neighborhood, your guy starts skimming, your cousin wants revenge over something stupid, police pressure one of your friends into talking. The whole game could be about trying to hold control while realizing control doesn’t actually exist.
A map based on Naples and the surrounding areas would be perfect too. Dense city neighborhoods where every corner matters, then you’ve got the coastline, industrial areas, ports, countryside outside the city, maybe even missions involving moving goods through Europe. Not a giant empty open world just for the sake of it—more of a dense world where every district has its own crew, rules, and history.
And the combat should be fast and ugly. No bullet sponge nonsense. Most shootouts should feel like they went wrong immediately. A couple of guys on scooters pull up, somebody panics, civilians scatter, and now you’re trying to get out before the police lock down the area or another crew shows up. Half the tension would be escaping rather than winning.
The coolest part would be the social side. You’d need to manage relationships with people who don’t necessarily like you but are tied to you: family, old friends, politicians, business owners, prison contacts, local kids trying to prove themselves. You could technically “win” a territory but lose the people closest to you in the process.
Basically, I don’t want GTA but Italian. I want a crime game where the lifestyle looks powerful from the outside, but playing it makes you feel trapped, watched, and one bad decision away from everything falling apart.
If a studio nailed that Gomorrah vibe without turning it into a cheesy Scarface power fantasy, I honestly think it could be one of the best crime games ever made.

I'm playing Mafia III right now and it's making me fucking depressed how much more advanced Mafia II was in terms of features.

I’ve done a few playthroughs of Mafia 3. And every time I do one, the glitches are just nonstop. I currently am not able to recruit any racket bosses/informants, Lincoln just kills them instantly without the option populating. There are cutscenes without audio. When Vito was locked in the freezer there was no prompt to open it so I had to redo the entire game from the beginning. Doing the DLC’s while the main story missions are active will give the game a seizure. This is my favorite story and Lincoln is my favorite character and I just can’t believe how unpolished this game is.

Ok, I've seen so many posts about this and every reply is "maybe its your hardware" everytime someone complains about bad frame rate, lets get this out the way, it isnt. There is a flaw with the game that no one seems willing to accept and i have no idea how to resolve it.
So months ago i tried to play, would not work at all, frame rate below 10. My hardware FAR exceeds the recommended. I gave up trying.
Fast forward to yesturday, figured id try again, did some GPU updates game update, run the the game....
FLAWLESS, 120+fps, smooth as butter. loving it, alls good, played for 3 hours before going to work.
Come home, ready to keep enjoying.
Start the game, nothing has changed in ANY settings, 10fps, unplayable mess.
So clearly there is an issue that everyone is blaming on people's rigs but that's obviously false.
Another interesting fact. When i played the "good" time, the game detected Optimal settings as "High" and maxed on everything.
Now its running poorly, the Optimal setting set it ALL to low and it still barely runs. Setting it back to high manually obviously doesnt fix performance.
So there seems to be an issue with the way the game is detecting the GPU. I dont have intergrated graphics so its not that. My settings didnt change. So the issues seem to stem entirly with the Game as everything else runs the same.
The game just sort of...doesnt know what hardware its running on? It doesnt make sense. Even bypassing the launcher, same issues.
So please people stop replying with genuine issues with "ug its just your hardware is too low" because obviously it isnt the issue here.

Just cruising at 110 in my Samson Drifter, leaving the 1930s cops in my rearview. What a time to be alive!

Weird bug happened in Sign of The Times where every NPC’s eyes became glowing white. Including Lincoln’s.

The game follows Tommy Angelo’s grandson during the late 1960s. After Tommy is assassinated the grandson learns about Tommy' past and wants revenge on Salieri.
Just because Salieri is in jail doesn't mean he lost his mafia empire, so he would destroy the mob in lost heaven and then comes after Salieri. Then the grandson infiltrates the prison Salieri is in and then kills him. And just before he kills him the grandson says: "Tommy Angelo sends his regards". And this is how the story ends and Tommy is avenged.

Hello - I was curious if anyone knew by chance how to recover my full Mafia III stats? The only thing I can think of is to try and get my old Xbox up and running but that might be an expensive task.
When I got my new Xbox only the money and enemies stats were transferred. I am just curious to know how much time I put into the game as I'm sure I have replayed this into the double-digits.
Currently downloading Mafia Old Country, but I just have a bad feeling it won't be as good without Lincoln.
