Nope the hell out
I love it when a game starts and first turn opponent cast Duress looks at you're hand and they are like nope i am out of here had it happen twice today.

I've won plenty of games where they force discard on the first few turns. The thing about duress and bandits talent is that it doesn't help their board state.

Depending on deck I usually don't care.
I usually run UW Control and I've got so much card draw it's whatever.

That's funny. Probably just me, but I've always felt the look at your hand discard cards were too powerful for the tiny casting cost. A purely digital game would say something like "discard highest mana cost" to achieve a less accurate but similar effect without giving away your strategy.

Oh sweet summer child. I remember thinking this when I started playing MTG a long ass time ago. It takes a while to realize that discard is actually pretty shit unless you can capitalize on the resource denial.

Nothing wrong with doing it sometimes you can see by there opening hand you are very likely toast.personally i usually try to play things out against unlikely odds but thats me.

I just avoid playing against alchemy cards in general. Won't be bothered to learn what they do anymore regardless of how strong or not they are.
Otherwise, I've never scooped to seeing someone's hand. My discard spell takes the best card most times anyway 😂

You have to understand there are a lot of people on Arena playing on their phones who see MTGA the same way they see a chess game when they have no chess knowledge:
A fun little app to pass the time but they have no clue what they are doing.
About ⅔ of MTGA players are by their own admission clueless. Read their reviews on App stores. They have never played mtg and they down vote the app because while they learn the rules, they are clueless about deck construction or the more intermediate to advance concepts of the game.
You almost certainly played people with virtually no clue on how to play MTG if this happened. So...congrats? It was like beating a chocolate labrador at checkers

Yeah, if I'm not playing ranked that's an easy scoop. I don't mind losing, and I don't mind playing against control, but 99% of the time I'm just trying to get my dailies in -- and unless my daily is about dropping lands, a match against a hand hate deck means there's a good enough chance I'm wasting my time that I'm better off requeuing.

That's the problem with time or slot limited daily quests. I enjoy playing MTG when I'm not exhausted and stressed out after a day in court, but I can't just push it off to the weekend without losing opportunities and resources. "99% of the time" was a bit of an exaggeration, I guess, but most of the time I'm playing to keep up with daily quests and the resource grind rather than because I've got a clear afternoon and that's what I want to do

You don't have to min-max the economy just because it presents the option to you. You can miss your dailies most days and be fine.

Usually works the other way for me.
