Updated Rules For The Sub

Hi all,

After a few people messaged me asking to enforce some stricter rules on here, I have updated the rules section. But I also wanted to make a post as most people will not read them.

Rules:

  1. You must be 18 or older to post here. If you are under 18 your post will be removed.
  2. No hate speech of any kind. Be nice to each other at all times. We live in tough times, let's just enjoy ourselves.
  3. Explain where you are located clearly. Not everyone lives in Dublin or a big city.

Post Titles

In order to promote conversation and make things clearer for people, I am going to make post titles mandatory have the format "Age - Gender - Location - Description". This will allow people to know a little about you before clicking into the post.

Happy posting!

Discord Reboot: Quarantine Edition

Hi all,

Our MFII discord server has seen an influx of new people and more activity than we've had in the past so wanted to post the invite link for anyone who wants to join.

I am planning some community events based on feedback as well (virtual board game night, DnD, and any other suggestions) so now is a good time to get involved and help keep things vibrant.

Link: https://discord.gg/Yky8w2h - all are welcome. Hope to see you there!

M26 looking for some new friends in Dublin

Hi, hope everyone’s doing good.

I’m from Waterford and been living in Dublin the last 2 years and most of my focus has been on work but I’m finally in a place now that I’m content with that part of my life and want to start socialising more.

Some of my interests/hobbies include; languages(i speak a bit of Dutch but find other languages very interesting), chess and board games, few online games, mountain biking/cycling, coffee, chats, walks, movies and more I can’t think of rn.

I’m on the south side and I work in IT. Would love to meet some likeminded people who are easygoing and hopefully share one or more interests. Bonus points if you speak Dutch!

Everyone’s welcome to reach out. I’m quite chill and get along with most people.

Talk soon!

Hello everyone, just turned 40, based in Dublin full time. Love to travel and see the world, I love pop, house and electro music. Love to go to gigs and festivals but my feet do not like festivals anymore! Haha! Am a genuine person, interest on politics, world of business and what's happening. Love a good documentary series or a browse of the channels too. Top musicians are Madonna and a Jessie Ware... With a good bit of house music. Say hello if you would like to chat :-)

Looking for friends!!! :p

23 student based in Tallaght & Laois looking to expand my circle, grab drinks, or/also chat on Insta (LGBTQ+ friendly). Currently balancing life between Laois while studying in Dublin, and looking to meet some like-minded people!
I’m open to everyone but I'd love to connect with other queer folks or sound allies around my age from wherever that may be. Big into gaming and movies so hit me up if you dig my vibe :)))))))

Ireland/UK Relaunching my TTRPG Discord - GMs & players, time zone friendly

So, a bit of a story with this one.

I started this server back in February. My real vision was a proper home for players and GMs, not just another dead LFG channel. I did weekly one-shots, got a proper party playing regularly but I couldn't source any other GMs to keep it running, then life and my health got in the way, so I quietly shelved it and went back to focusing on my own Sunday group.

Well, life's done its thing again and handed me a lot more free time than I
know what to do with. Leading up to this, i had been toying around with the idea of a community again, so i have decided to relaunch "Beginners & Battlemasters".

Thing will be a little different this time round, going Ireland/UK based instead of global, so scheduling actually works and we're not fighting time zones to get a session together. I've got the time to actually put into this not just spinning it up and disappearing again.

What I'm planning to run.
- One-shots to get new groups playing together with low commitment.
- Session Zeros, run properly. that way tables start off aligned instead of finding out three - sessions in that nobody agreed on tone.
- Workshops for people who want to run games but aren't sure where to start
- Ongoing campaigns once groups gel.

Who I'm looking for
- GMs, Both new and experienced who want a pool of players and a community actually backing them, not just an empty server.
- Players who are tired of LFG posts going nowhere.
- Anyone who wants to talk dice, builds, and campaigns between sessions, not just when someone's recruiting.

If you're in Ireland or the UK and looking for a table (or want to run one). let me know

20m looking to connect with some sound people and build actual friendships

I’ll keep a few of my other interests under wraps for now, you’ll have to figure those out yourself. But on any given day you can usually catch me watching a decent horror film, binging a good series, gaming in my spare time or out playing basketball. Down for anything from movie debates and casual gaming to hitting the court or grabbing a coffee. Drop a message if you’re up for a chat!

27M for friends, travel buddy, chat companion, friendship or bromance | Dublin based

I know, I know, it's a long shot - but Ive met some of you too! Posting again to expand more of my circles!

27-year-old lad here! Looking to build a solid bromance and travelling together (either Ireland or the effing world) 😁 or just having a few close mates to talk to regularly or travel here and there on the weekend - preferably someone who actually wants to meet in person.

So ladies and gents, here's what I can offer:

  1. Almost 24 hours of emotional support (I normally sleep at 10 but I wake up at 5, so keep that in mind 😂)

  2. Like the outdoors, especially hiking - currently into cycling as well.

  3. Can talk about anything (as long as you're engaging)

  4. Can be your gay partner when needed or your bromance - im gay fyi, so ladies, you'll probably be safe as I ain't hitting on you, and guys, no, im not gonna hit on you unless you are being extremely flirty with me (and thats a big fucking if cause i tend not to notice)

  5. Will definitely be there for you through storms and thunders (cycled through the rain for a pizza - that should count!)

  6. Im 27 but I look wayyyy younger, so keep that in mind. Have been confirmed by people I've met with, as they are confused when we talk about work experience or just life in general.

  7. Just looking for someone to hang out, have deep talks, go to movies, exercise (maybe), travel, hike, or chat regularly. Anything to fill up the time I suppose.

  8. Can and will blurt my mind out to you 24x7

DMs open if anyone's willing to meet up in person (I KNOW, FACE REALITY, DUH)

Hopefully Ill get to meet some of you guys soon.

Book Club Raheny (and surrounds)

Newly moved to Raheny and wondering if there are any book clubs on the go that are open to new members (F36)?

OR, if anyone would like to start one?

Love the idea of being able to get involved locally to save always having to go into the city but open to that too!

Thanks 🙂

27M film nerd in Dublin seeking fellow cinephiles!

Just moved to Dublin from the U.S. for grad school and am looking to meet other people to nerd out about cinema with me. I'm the type of guy who watches 365 movies a year, owns 170 Blu-Rays, and is probably already a regular at the IFI. DM me if you want to catch a movie sometime soon!

M35 Dublin - looking for friends who want to actually do things!

Hey guys. M35 Irish here. Just moved back to Dublin.

I'm a nerdy guy who loves to read, hike, go to the gym, play board/video games.

I want to get out of my comfort zone this year and try lots of different things to make new friends (pub quizzes, hikes, comedy shows, dancing classes, pottery, painting, etc).

But it's a bit awkward going to events alone. So I thought I'd post here to see if I can find some like minded people to go to things with (maybe make a WhatsApp group to coordinate events if there's a lot of interest).

If that sounds like something that would interest you, send me a DM!

Edit; Wow, more people than I expected responded. Awesome guys. I'll get back to you asap, about the WhatsApp group. First event will probably be table quiz/board games or hiking depending on people's interest

22M – Looking for Online Friendship

Hey! I'm a 22-year-old dental student from Algeria looking to meet people from different backgrounds and make genuine friendships.

A little about me: • I enjoy hiking, nature, and exploring new places. • I'm passionate about languages and language learning, and I can help you with Modern Standard Arabic and Algerian Darija. • I enjoy story-driven and challenging video games. • I like meaningful conversations about culture, life, travel, and different perspectives.

I'd describe myself as curious, open-minded, and easy to talk to. Whether it's a deep discussion about life, sharing experiences from our countries, or just chatting about random things, I'm always happy to connect with new people.

If you're looking for a friendly international friend, feel free to send me a message!

27F | American Abroad

Hello!

I’m 27F looking to make a penpal friend prior to my move to live abroad for a few years. I’d love to learn more about the culture and living there! I think it would also be just such an interesting experience meeting people overseas and I’ve grown up so sheltered and it’s so different there. A few things about me:
•I love comics/marvel
•I’m very nerdy
•I’m a big movie fanatic
•I’m a big reader
•I love to travel and I’ve lived in 14 different states (army brat growing up)
•I’m such a soft and compassionate /emotional person. My empathy will inevitably kill me lol.
•I’m super big into nature, camping and hiking so I’m ready for any and all suggestions for trips when I am there.
