Most of my time lately goes into the next expansion, and that is a long haul. In the meantime a pile of quality of life fixes had stacked up, along with one change I did not want to sit on any longer, so here they are. This is the "boring" update. Stay tuned for the upcoming big one.
The Press Room
Each press conference used to create a separate post, which crowded the subreddit feed and prevented any real discussion. Now every broadcast for the day lands as a comment in a single daily Press Room thread, so the feed stays readable and the day's conferences are all in one place. Open the Press Room post and you can play through them one after another, with the same rewards for watching as before.
See your press release before it goes public
Broadcasting now opens a preview of the exact release that will be posted: headline, act, and all three questions and answers, rendered the way it will actually read. Nothing goes public until you confirm it.
Instant completion is capped at 200 gems
The instant completion price used to keep climbing with the timer, which made long builds, researches, and mastery upgrades unreasonably expensive. It now costs at most 200 gems, however long the timer is. The buttons also say what they do: "Finish Now" plus the price, instead of a bare number next to a gem icon.
Smaller fixes
- Long pages scroll correctly again, across the whole game.
- Space bar advances the press conference and the launch sequence.
- Posts from the game now carry real artwork in feed cards and Community Highlights.
- Joining the subreddit, reading your inbox, and setting a flair update immediately instead of showing stale numbers until the next refresh.
- New subreddit banner.
Good number of you requested various useful QoL changes. They are not forgotten, I simply couldn't work on those yet and they are in my ToDo list.
So... where is the expansion?
Being made, slowly. Most of the work has not been code. It has been story, gameplay, and balance. Written, played, thrown out, and written again. I have lost count of the versions that did not survive contact with an actual play session. I would rather take the time than ship something that plays flat.
What I can say about it: this is not just a pack of new buildings and products bolted onto what you already have. The scope is much bigger, closer to a second half of the game than an add-on. Some of it will feel familiar, since you will still be building, producing, and planning several steps ahead. A lot of it deliberately will not.
A few hints, and that is all you get for now: It begins where the current campaign ends, so what you do with that rocket matters. The pressures out there are different from the ones you know. What you make will not be sold, it will be spent.
No date yet. It ships when it feels right.
