discussion Are Churches a form of cults?

Scariest cult I’ve heard of in the modern day is the Good News International Church in Kenya. The pastor brought 400 people into the forest and told them they had to starve themselves to get into heaven. The police are still finding bodies seven years later and he’s still in jail and will be forever.

Scariest cult ever heard of by total death toll is definitely the People’s Temple. It takes a special kind of twisted to convince hundreds of people to off themselves and each other. Just here in Malawi saw a certain pastor convincing his followers that he is god and during prayers his followers pray in his name and say Amen😂

During my secondary school days a certain guy would rush to pray pa assembly inorder to pray in that Evangelist name.🙌🏿🤣

Am I boring, weird or just not normal or am I overthinking?

So, I am a sober guy that's been blowing zeros since day uno. Never tried drinking or smoking, literally. I am always indoors and never go out unless I want to buy something or going somewhere. I can spend the whole week indoors and I also only have 1 friend that I talk to or meet whenever necessary, apart from that, I am not touching grass.

But one thing I noticed is that, most things don't excite me, I don't follow sports, can't say my favorite food, I never celebrated my degree (literally didn't post myself), I just didn't see what the vibe or thrill was all about.

Even when I achieve something, I only go like, 'yay!' and move on with my life. Though one thing's for certain, I am good at what I do.

Anyone else like me? 😂 and what are your thoughts on this?

Lifestyle and literacy levels in Malawi

I am a science guy, but recently I've grown so much interest in social sciences just because its the way of our everyday life.

In USA the majority of people with NCDs are those with low social economic class contrary in Malawi it's quite the opposite. (NCD thats non communicable diseases like hypertension, diabetes etc)

I've been lucky to work in both public and private health institutions so i have observed that trend for a while now.

Malawians with lower social economic class tend to be diagnosed with hypertension at around 47 years on average while those on higher social economic class the average is around 33 years.

So ma youth anzanga, let's take care of our health as we are young..it will take care of us when we are aged.

Lets mind what are bodies are consuming

Occult discussion: Egregores.

Who else has an interest in the occult here? Not even actively practicing it but just even collecting knowledge on it, hearing different theories and opinions on the occult... Anyways this post is for you.

Lately I stumbled on the Egragorian theory. An Egragore is a concept from Western esotericism and occultism referring to a non-physical entity or thought-form that arises from the collective thoughts, emotions, and intentions of a group of people(this is from Wikipedia, sue me😂) So it's basically collective consciousness come to life, serving whatever belief brought it into existence. This is where it gets extremely interesting because anything can be an Egragore including brands, events, places and of course religions. I just wanted to hear your opinions and thoughts on this occult concept.

What we could have been

It happened like in a movie. We touched hands and helped her carry the clothes, then I got her number. That’s how it all started. Our attraction was so intentional. She was crossing boundaries just to be with me and to see me sometimes. I was so in love, and she was in love too.

I’m the type of guy who’s obsessed with staying in his room, but she made me touch grass. I was moving around her neighborhood just to see her. Unfortunately, I stopped seeing her. Maybe she got grounded, maybe she got busy.

Later she told me she couldn’t keep coming to my place and that I needed to start visiting her instead. Me, visiting her? That was a problem. The condition was that I had to be there as her friend while her parents listened to our conversations. Don’t get me wrong, of course I could do that. But what I couldn’t do was hold myself back from flirting with her and expressing the love I had for her in front of her parents. So I kept declining the offer.

Weeks later we kept texting, telling each other stories, our fantasies, our future. Funny thing — she wanted to have five kids, and I loved that idea. I could vividly see our future together, and I loved it. I’ve always wanted a childfree future, but with her I could see myself traditionally, happily married. Tikukhala somewhere far, chaku NRC kumadimba

As weeks passed, we started to fall apart because I wanted her at my place and she wanted me at hers. One time she even told me, __, I can be sneaky and come kwanuko, but what if my parents find out I’m not in my room and search kwanuko?” I love that sentence. But I went point-blank. Wait — did I tell you her dad has a gun? That part scares me. She wasn’t the one who told me about the gun. Her father did, and I did my research and found out it was true. So I can’t mess with a man with ammunition.

Back to the story: the words she said were sweet, and at the time they got my heart pumping like I was sprinting. More days passed, and she started resenting me. I tried to soothe the situation by apologizing over and over. But guess what? She wrote to me, mentioning my name again: “___, I am trying.” Meaning she was trying hard to make it work. But... there’s always a “but.” The “but” never followed. It just ended like that.

I kept pushing, thinking maybe we were going to work something out. Little did I know that was her way of closing our unsailed ship. It took me time to realize we were no longer going to sail.

Cutting the story short, I occasionally see her. And every time I see her, I always think of what we could have been. But somehow we have to move on. Maybe in the next life we’ll be together. And in this life? Maybe it’ll always be what we could have been.

Anyway, I just texted her 'cause I miss her, I hope she replies.

suggestion Go Fund me for Malawi

I was thinking of creating a go fund me platform for Malawians. Our friends in other countries out there they help each other through go fund me.

People are struggling silently and they are afraid of asking help from strangers.

People are failing to start over in life not because they don't have the competence to do things in life but money is the problem.

What do you think people ?

suggestion Family is the reason why you broke and stuck in this economy too.

Those who do not stay with their families in this economy they can agree with me on this one.

The best way to achieve better things in this economy is to avoid taking advice from family members. Those people are full of envy , they can kill your dreams If you listen to them.

Also If you doing better do not let them know. Some family members more especially fathers can be reason why you are not progressing in life. They be wanting you to secretly fail you just don't know if yet.

If you staying with your family In your 20's mate you killing yourself slowly as a man.

Idgaf if you loved at home or not but our generation is different from our parents generation man. To get whatever we want we need to be willing to do things the old generation has ever done it before.

Get tf out of your comfort zone , team up with people who are staying alone they'll teach your alot about being independent than your own family will.

Depression will k..l me one day

I am a 30yrs old man married with a kid and I have almost 6 siblings 1 brother and 5 sisters.. my father worked so hard paying school fees and taking care of the family I struggled from secondary to university but I have always wanted to have a degree and make my dad proud for the sacrifices he made on paying school fees. (Story for another day). Currently I am working, and My younger sister was born after me also she is working as a teacher. She also worked so hard too even though she did her secondly at your village wer she went soon after finishing standard 8. Now the story which stresses me out is that the other 4 sisters and my youngest brother haven't been doing well at school. He failed MSCE once and repeated and failed again, the other 2 sisters also failed the first attempt and repeated failed too. The last born failed primary school repeated and failed again just recently. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 No matter how we advise them to work hard they always fail I don't know what might be the problem in our family, my dad is old now but still he worked tirelessly trying to feed the family while I and my elder sis help him too on school fees and other things. When I think about all this it pains me and worries me so much 😭 I don't know who cursed us 😭😭. I thought me finishing my degree will motivate my younger brother and sisters to do well at school... Whenever I try to talk to them they seem to understand but still no change. I don't know what to do anymore coz even if I do stay far now but my thoughts are always home and it always disturbs my career, health etc. eshiiiiii am fade up with all this.
