Question Basing tips
Hey all, working on putting together the jack daw core box, and i think i want my bases to be like a metal jail floor with some rust and blood splatter on them. I think i have the paints figured out, but does anyone have any tips on how to sculpt the actual floor and make that look good?
Any helps is appreciated. Thank you!

Malifaux has basing tops. Or did. They have a hospital floor that’s cracked and broken

To get the look of riveted iron or steel floors, you could use some kind of thin clay/ milliput/ green stuff, and find some micro beads to press in as rivets. You could potentially also use a hollow tube to press ‘rivets’ into the clay, I have used the cheap store brand Q-tips, specifically the ones with plastic handles, tore off the cotton swab and used the tubes to press into foam core, but usually when building larger terrain pieces. I haven’t tried this for basing, so it might be too big of a detail for a small area.

There are structure rollers for green stuff, that can give you such a pattern.
