My maltese is old now. He's about 12. His best friend passed about 2 years ago that was another corgi and so I got another because he was sad. Was a long ride as he disliked the new puppy a lot until the past year and was worried for a bit (corgi was too hyper for him). 2nd pic is a little recreation. Now their relationship melts my heart because my corgi is so protective of him, gives him his treats, and herds him around the yard back inside when I call because my maltese is now hard of hearing. I want to see ya'll's maltese's best friends so post in comments. Stories of them a bonus.

Miss Noa had a haircut yesterday and now she's really milking the sadness. I was only in the kitchen haha. (She can see me!)

A friend sent me this and I found it quite interesting. I took a close look at Diana and felt her legs front and back. I found she had perfect confirmation in the back but bowed knees in the front. I remember that Voca, perfect legs, front and back and when she ran, it was like a dream even when she walked it was like a dream. Diana is so darn lovable when she runs she hopped like a bunny. It may not be confirmation, but it sure makes her cute . Pet dogs are not expected to be in confirmation. It just shows what the AKC is looking for in standards.

I have a female Maltese who is currently 6 months old. In about a month, I'm planning to bring home a female Belgian Malinois puppy. She will be 5 months old by then, while my Maltese will be 9 months old. So, they will both be female dogs.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience introducing two young dogs. Is there anything I should pay special attention to? What's the best way to introduce them? Would it be better to let them meet for the first time on neutral ground? They will both be entering a new home and unfamiliar surroundings for the first time.

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

My 10 year old spayed Maltese was diagnosed with a grade 3 luxating patella last year and the vet told us we didn’t need to do anything, just keep on top of her weight and exercise etc.
Then on Thursday she suddenly started limping on her back left leg. We took her to the vets on Saturday and the vet gave her a grading of between 3 and 4 for the affected leg.
He has given us 2 types of pain killer to be given to her twice a day for 10 days and we have a follow up appointment with him a week today. He’s recommended to keep walking her but only for 10-15 minutes a day.
He’s suggested that going forward we take her for monthly anti inflammatory injections. He mentioned about the possibility of surgery but he preferred the injection route.
My question is whether it might be worth going for the surgical option anyway? My husband thinks we should as otherwise she’s not actually going to get better but I worry about the impact of such a big surgery and the recovery for a dog of her age. But are we leaving her with a poor quality of life if we don’t do the surgery? It breaks my heart to think of her in pain. I just want to do what’s best for her.
