Too much sun can easily harm a plant as too little sun. Not to mention, climate is a different thing that also affects plants growth.

It's less about Alola's tropical sunlight and more about the light of Necrozma, hence why we still see regular Executor in places like Hoenn and even the islands of Pokémon Snap, despite them having a really nice tropical environment that should, in theory, allow Executor to reach its Alolan form.

Plus, the Alolan form is Dragon type...and there is a certain light-giving dragon in Alola now, isn't there? 🤔

That's what I think, anyway. Thank you for coming to my TED talk--

Idk I'm guessing

General climate, but also genetic breeding. The Executor in Alola over generations grew taller because it had a warmer climate year round and more frequent sunlight. Also we do know that Kanto has a day and night cycle because of the Jotoh games having a day and night cycle and being able to go to Kanto with a day and night cycle.

Kanto suffers under an artificial sun. It’s why so many Grass-types have to be part-Poison: they grow so little that they have to defend themselves more vigorously.

Doesn't the Pokedex entries or something in the Sun and Moon games themselves mention something about them having to adapt to avoid drowning in sea water or something? (RIP tail I guess.) Or... Or am I just thinking about palm trees in general?

Kanto has a special no-fun forcefield that prevent Golbats from evolving into Crobats and ruins Exeggcute genetics

I mean one is a regular palm and the other is a sago palm. Sagos don’t get nearly as tall as regular palms no matter the condition.

Can I ask a question about it's tail. Is the tail sentient? It's eyes and things move in pogo in raids, and when defeated it looks injured like galarian Mr mines and bellibolts eyes do
