I just saw this on the 1970s Reddit. Clearly two gold legs on this bedspread which is not what you see if you google C-3PO.

Maybe I’m crazy, maybe it’s Maybelline.

As the title suggests, this is about the brand Maybelline, specifically their tagline. You know, the iconic: “Maybe it’s Maybelline”? Well, I distinctly remember the tagline saying: “Maybe it’s Maybelline” with “New York” whispered in the background. Like: “Maybe it’s Maybelline (New York)”. Maybe I’m going crazy, maybe my memory is off, I don’t know, but I was wondering if anyone else remembers this or am I just losing my mind.

Misc Cran brand crayons

Growing up in the 80s, my mom bought me lousy off brand crayons called "Cran"

I later learned about cran being a common mispronunciation of crayon, and realized the brand name was a clever joke on this.

I subsequently tried to share this with people whenever the pronunciation subject comes up, but I can find no evidence this brand ever existed.

I'm thinking maybe I made it up. Can anyone remember these?

Urethra Frankin

ok this is driving me crazy. I SWEAR when i was a kid everyone called her Urethra Franklin. Like the Queen of Soul Urethra. I remember watching old interviews and the captions even said Urethra. My grandma used to sing "Respect" and she always said "thats Urethra Franklin baby".

But now if you google it or look anywhere its all Aretha. Like what the hell?? Her estate must of paid a fortune to scrub the internet and all the old records and books and everything. They even got into peoples brains with some kind of psyop mind control thing so now everybody "remembers" it was always Aretha. Classic elite coverup.

I found one blurry photo from like 1967 where you can almost make out Urethra on a poster but then it got taken down real quick. They dont want us knowing the truth. Anyone else remember Urethra Franklin or am i the only one who didnt fall for the gaslighting?? This is bigger than the Berenstein Bears thing. Wake up people.

Possible New Mandela Effect?

I was doom scrolling and came across a short of the song 'wicked game' by Chris Isaac. I remember seeing a video when I was a kid of a guy looking like Roy Orbison singing this song in on a commercial. The scene was him (Chris Isaac) looking like Roy Orbison singing in the right side of the screen and a brunette woman in a red dress and red lipstick on in the background appear from behind a veil with dark lighting dancing. The floor and back drop were a dark blue-ish color and Chris had low lighting on him almost like he was in a shadow while singing. I sincerely remember his 1980's haircut, dark sunglasses, the beach tropical scenery at the end of the video where another guy is holding this same woman laying down and basically queing this woman was breaking his heart going around playing him. Anyway does Anyone remember this? So far from what I found, the current video has the beach scene basically as the whole video, only we get this in the early 1990s, and new guy Chris Isaac guy is not the one I remember at all. This new guy looks like a late 90's late entry singer that tried to make 80's music in the 90's and just skated on his looks lol. Thanks for the read, and replies, have a great day community.

Ty Lee's CLUMPS line alternate version.

In the Avatar the Last Airbender episode The Chase, I remember the first time I saw it, when Mai told Ty Lee that the word she was looking for is "Clumps", Ty responded by shouting "CLUMPS!!!" and then hugged Mai and said "I love you." However, every other viewing I had of this episode, she has only ever went "CLUMPS! THEY'RE CLUMPS!"

I swear that in the late 90’s/early Oughts there was a competitor to the Bluetooth standard that came out around the same time. I remember getting some PDA knockoff that supported it, i also remember having to install a card i bought separately that supported it and replaced my sound card with this new one on my compaq(?) tower..which i was kind of bummed because my Turtle Beach sound card that did not transmit anything, was a better sound card. I remember telling myself it was ok because a bunch of new devices will have this option.

The fact that i cannot remember the standard or even the companies advertising its adoption might be the reason it is ungoogleble.. however, no one i talk to even remembers this.

i do know it supported multicast (i think up to 4 devices/speakers simultaneously). That is something Bluetooth has trouble with even today almost 30 years later.

It was similar to the Vhs/Beta Max, HD-DVD/Blu-Ray, Firewire/USB competition. I remember talking about this standard and debating the pros and cons, obviously i already shelled out for the Bluetooth competitor but it wasnt THAT important to me. I just remember smugly having a conversation about how my tower can connect to two different speakers at once (not that i had anything other than the pda) .. the range might have been better too?

Does anyone else remember something like this? Am i going mad ? The early 2000’s were college times and LSD was still a thing (RIP Owsley) so I could be hallucinating this whole thing, lol. However, shot in the dark someone else old enough to have lived during that time remembers the name of this standard that according to the internet doesn’t exist/Never existed.

PS. Firewire (and Thunderbolt) should have beaten USB !

Harry Potter

Hey guys new here, so I have a weird Mandela that I can’t make sense of. So I’ve watch Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban many times. I clearly remember when Harry Potter left home, after his Aunt inflated like a balloon, that the double decker bus that picked him up was red but when we just watched it a few days ago it was a blue bus. I’m I tripping guys

Bruce Springsteen, that is.

I remember him singing, "..six inch valley through the middle of my soul..." ..which now he says, "skull". I remember "soul" because I used to change the word whenever it came on the radio to "assoul"...plus the lyric sheet in the LP says soul.

Does anyone know of these two Mandela Effects?

A few months ago this year, I Googled celebrities with autism and Uma Thurman popped up on several articles along with other celebrities. Now, when you look her up, it says she has dyslexia and not autism. It also claims Daryl Hannah is the autistic one, but they never mentioned her to be autistic in any of the articles. This was only a few months ago when I searched this and I clearly remember Uma Thurman being one of the celebrities with autism. I am sure of this one. What do you guys think? Another one, is the scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory where Charlie opened up the chocolate bar. To refresh everyone's memory, Charlie's grandpa gave him a wonka bar, which was a big deal, because they were poor.
When Charlie opened up the wonka bar, it was just a regular chocolate bar WITHOUT the golden ticket, which meant he did not win. The chocolate bar had to have the golden ticket. Charlie then broke off small bars of the CHOCOLATE to share with his family. I also remember the room being dark grey and slanted. The beds the grandparents were sitting up in looked slanted. The room was all wonky and poor looking.
Now, they're showing Charlie opening a moon pie instead of a chocolate bar without the golden ticket?? Why would a moon pie be in a chocolate bar wrapping?? Makes no sense..the point was for the chocolate bar to have the golden ticket inside of the wrapping. I also remember the grandparents taking a bite of the small piece of chocolate Charlie gave them. Don't be fooled by this. It was a chocolate bar..
