Guide Pro tip

Hey everyone!!

If you’re having trouble with fulfilling the clothing need of your large towns, I have found a brilliant solution.

If you pick the lord of the alps perk (the one that halves clothing consumption) it becomes commercially viable and sustainable to import all raw materials required (wool or flax) at every burgage plot level.

Might save some hassle if the new clothing difficulty is driving you crazy.

I love the cows :3

Just go out and conquer a high fertility zone and send the clothes back to your main region. I hate sending my villages’ hard earned cash away from the regions 😂

But what do I parter it for in exchange? If they’re sending the main region flax, what does the main region send them?

Cash. Use the trade post. Then your 2nd region can get enough money to buy plenty of extensions.

You can uncheck the global trade button on any resource and only trade specific goods between villages without paying the tariffs.
Each village can set their own min or max.

If you're struggling with clothing, slow down and build a surplus of linen rule of thumb have double the linen/yarn compared to the amount of clothes you NEED not want and then make sure your flax is surpluses as well..

So if you have 5 t2 burgages, all you need are 10 clothing, 20 linen as the max number and then funnel your flax into linen as your clothes are used up.. sometimes ill even go to 40 clothing items and then pause the tailor for a year or two so I can stack up the linen reserve...

My current town has about 110 families, literally a total of ten homes at t2 and three homes at t3 in year 9-10.. making a ton of money and slowly building my army militia strength.. buikding my interior walls for the manor and planing out the exterior walls here in a bit. One region because the off map AI stole the good ones so nobinsider trading lol..

Practice keeping the finale product to the most minimum number you need. In order to grow. There is no need to rush to t3-4 burgages until you need or can afford to.

  1. There are many spots of good fertility for oats even in non-fertile regions, and they're really a great crop, only beaten by wheat after bakery; even if you use the best for barley, you can harvest though to convert some to animal feed and afford sheep.
  2. even fields with slightly above red flax fertility (yellow or orange, so 20-30%) will give a decent yield.

I'd not recommend picking that perk rather than other, much more powerful ones, just for easier clothing. There's also an initial valley in which your first clothes will just disappear even if you produce more than you need in the long run.
