Rules

Moderators will use their discretion in enforcing these rules:

In the title, please include:
- [interactive] if the map is zoomable or responsive
- [article] if the map is the centrepiece of an article
- [album] if the link leads to a collection of maps
- [OC] if the map was created by the posting user
- some context (such as the location, cartographer, and date).
Political maps are allowed, but agenda pushing is not. An example of agenda pushing would be a map that is explicitly tied to a political party or ideology with an intent other than giving information or presenting an idea in an interesting way. Political maps must have a source for any data they use.
Fictional maps are allowed.
All thematic maps must have a legend in the title or on the map.
Discussions of all topics are encouraged. However, please stay civil and avoid jumping to provocative and derogative slurs.
The types of maps that are currently banned are "true size of X" maps, "places I have been maps", and any map that is functionally a population map. See the Clarification of Rules for more information.
