Advice please. I don’t like r/arborists.

rainy day, bus was late, decided to not go home. i was just passing by and as usual stopped to appreciate these old fellas. this time i decided to take a photo and share though.

Just a question cause i’m curious.

I’m staying at an upscale golf resort in east georgia. this development was finished very recently (i suspect i am the first person to stay here). the developers surely bulldozed some of this forest to build this, but they left like 10 lone, very tall pine trees.

1) how old do you think these trees are? the tallest one is probably close to 120’ tall

2) will these trees survive? they all look pretty healthy

We planted two small swamp white oaks this spring. They’re both doing well (easily added a 1.5ft) and we noticed today they both have these galls on them.

From searching the sub, I saw some similar looking ones were called Lobed Oak Galls.

Anyways, I thought they looked cool and wanted to share with you all. Especially u/ohshannoneileen

So this is a mature beech in my back yard approx 10m from my house.

It’s got a tree protection order on it so I can not do anything to it without permission from council. Tree 2 houses down (oak) had to be chopped as had honey fungus.

Digging around base to plant some bulbs, found quite a few places with white patches(I’m assuming mycelium)/what looks like decay?

I’m north uk if that makes any difference.

I’m worried about it coming down on my house 🤣

These are some oriental sweetgum trees (Liquidambar orientalis) growing in the valley of Butterflies on rhodes.

Went to cut down some suckers that were a bit overgrown and saw a lot of decomposing material, mold, and just chunks that could be taken out at the bottom. Don’t want this tree to unexpectedly fall down and cause damage.

I’ve been checking this tree out for a couple of years. There’s this one and another area that has them. I tried doing research on trees with red roots in Maine but I got nothing. These are along a riverbed in northern Maine. Thanks!

Its about 70 foot tall and no leaves close to the ground so this is the best i got. These woods are loaded with smaller green and white ash, this one is untouched by ash borer. Thumb of Michigan 6b

Will it create a weak point and split later or is it fine to leave it as it is? The split is about 2m high but none of the 3 leads point anywhere close to straight up.
