Am I missing something?
So is there a better version of Marvel Unlimited for browser than the option found at Marvel.com that I've completely missed? I've been using the desktop site to read mostly current comics which it's been great for but I wanted to go back and read some older stuff I enjoyed when I was younger, stuff like Fear Itself, Siege, Hickman's FF & Avengers runs to name a few and the search function is horrendous.
I had to scroll through 6 pages of unrelated results, mostly Daredevil comics with the word "Fear" in the title but also completely unrelated stuff like Empyre tie-ins from 2020, to find a single issue of Fear Itself and the first one that came up was issue #4! Also this is unrelated to the main point but why is Fear Itself #1 missing from the app?
It's not an isolated issue to be clear. I had worse results looking for the other stuff I listed. In fact I haven't been able to find a single issue from any of those other comics in the search results for them.
I had better luck finding content related to the 2010 Siege event by trying to search up Hickman's 2012 Secret Wars. I scrolled through 5 pages of results and I found Siege tie-ins, still no luck with the main series tho, and Star Wars comics but nothing related to the actual book I was searching for what's up with that? I hate to bring the distinguished competition into this but on DC Infinite I type "Final Crisis" into the search bar on browser and the 7 issue event is the top result in two seconds. I feel like I'm going crazy I haven't seen a search function this bad in ages.
So my question(s) is am I missing something? Is the Marvel Unlimited search function just terrible? Is there another way to access Marvel Unlimited from a desktop browser that works better that I've just managed to completely miss? When I click on the big Marvel Unlimited button it just loops me back to the same old home page promoting new releases. Is this app just built for mobile and not well supported on desktop? Why is Issue #1 of "Fear Itself (2010)" missing?
Any insight is appreciated. I just wanna read some old comics lol

My frustrations are exactly like yours, which is why I built this companion app for the desktop experience. This is a 3 week old project that is constantly evolving, but my hope is to make the discovery process a lot easier.

Go to google.com. Enter a search, and on the end add site:marvel.com.
For example: "fear itself #2 site:marvel.com"
The first hit is the page for that issue. If you have MU and are logged into Marvel.com, there will be a link to read the digital issue, if it's available.
Basically, use a better search engine to do the searching, and get around Marvel's crappy search engine.

I use an android emulator and it's probably the perfect reading experience if you prefer reading on PC. You might need to set up some key binds for flipping through panels, but it's worth the tinkering. The one I use is MuMuPlayer but there's other options you can google for

The correct, functional , though unintuitive way to search for content on the desktop site isn’t through the site wide search bar.
Go to the comics tab, under that there are options to search by character, series, creator.
Select which one you are looking for, in this case “series”. Then either go to the F section or use the search bar.
This way I was able to find the fear itself miniseries quickly.
This also allows you to search up characters and read characters in rough release order.

It’s a bit of a faff, but when I’m reading on a PC, I typically find the issue on the Marvel Fandom wiki first (which has a much better search function IMO), and then click through to MU using the link on the wiki page. Here’s the page for issue one of Fear Itself: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Fear_Itself_Vol_1_1

Marvel search sucks no matter what but the web interface for unlimited is so bad. An app is definitely required

There’s a bit of rambling there, so will address what I can…no disrespect meant lol
But fear itself is in MU and complete. As a general rule, I’d say all of the newer age stuff is complete. Especially events.

I’d definitely use the app as I have zero issues between reading issues. Personally use my phone and iPad but haven’t checked to see if there’s a native desktop app. I’d assume so and that’d be best.
Marvel.com search has been broken for years and always probably will be. I end up using a workaround of using online reading lists and searching issues as I read through. Not as tenuous as it sounds as you tend to flip between specific series so it’s easy to keep up.
