can anybody help with this question?
for this question i had to turn a nonstatistical question into statistical investigative question and the nonstatistical question is "How many seventh graders eat breakfast on Monday at school?" and i already gave my answer ("What is the percentage of all seventh graders that eat breakfast at school on Monday?") but my teacher said its wrong and i need to reword it but i actually do not know how to reword it, does anybody know how to help cause my teacher wont answer me and google not helping
(also this is 12th grade math and my teacher said that the question needs to be a question that doesn't give a fixed answer)

My first instinct is that maybe your teacher means something like "what is the mean and standard deviation / or median and interquartile range of XYZ". Something a bit more robust.

More likely, this is at the stage before students have learnt what a standard deviation even is, so that would be collecting data on say, how many days a week students usually eat breakfast, and then finding the mean, median, mode, range, quartiles and interquartile range (descriptive statistics). So then the OP could make a boxplot out of this information and that would be good enough at this level.

I get what your teacher wants, despite them not clearly saying it... go with something like.... are students more likely to eat school breakfast on Mondays or Fridays.... a question that would require an experiment to solve. Sounds like you are just breaking into a unit on statistics.

I think it could be purely logical - does anyone eat breakfast at school? Where I'm from the answer is 0
The first thing that comes to mind is - Does nonstatistical mean you can't measure it because no one provides those statistics? So I need at least one variable that can be measured.
I'd also be looking at - Is the teacher asking you to be accurate? Maths school questions usually contain some information (no matter how fake) so the person can solve them without looking it up online
The variables look like - 7th graders, breakfast, mondays, school
So I'd be looking at narrowing down the information;
Seventh graders are US only or a specific population?
How many seventh graders are there?
Does breakfast time coincide with school time?
Depending on difficulty I'd word it using information like this;
X school are interested in the benefits pupils get from eating breakfast with their families, so they handed out surveys to find out more information.
X school classes are between 9am and 3.30pm Monday, xx Tuesday, xx Wednesday, xx Thursday, xx Friday.
There are 848 pupils, 12.5% of which are 7th graders
6 of the 7th graders never returned the survey. Of the returned surveys - 99% were overwhelmingly positive.
How many 7th graders enjoy their breakfast at 9am on a Monday?
The fixed answer thing your teacher said suggests they want you to make people solve a maths problem.

Basically, the number of 7th graders eating lunch at school on Monday is going to vary from Monday to Monday. So giving a specific percentage is going to fall short of understanding things like how much this fluctuates. So mathematicians have invented ways to capture this variation, in a limited but effective way. So, rather than me telling you: google "measures of central tendency", and "basics of statisticsl distribution". But do the first one first. The second can get complicated fast, so specifically look for "introduction to" articles

This is too vague. We don't know what your teacher's definition of "statistical question" is.
