J feeder height

Did I just mess up? I’ve searched the forums and everyone said it’s best to put the bottom of the j feeder at 4” which makes the lip at 5”, seems high but will that be okay for kits and mama? I can go lower by one or two inches but it changes the integrity of the wire it’s hanging on… thoughts? I have tamuk

Not sure what height ours are, but you can always put in another container like a bowl when the kits are small, if not big enough to reach the j feeder yet.

That’s what I’m planning on if I need to, or put a brick in. I know it’s not good to have them too low to prevent scratching and defecation in it. I have another cage to do and was wondering if I should go lower ?
