Breeders

Hey yall! I asked about breeding "my" Mini Rexs about three months ago, and the common response was that my stock did not look like ARBA standard Mini Rexs. Although I did not mention it in the original post, they are the rabbits of my highschool's agriculture program-not mine personally. Based on yall's answers, I decided that it would be a good idea to purchase new stock-my new advisor agreeing. Meaning, I need a new breeder. Does anyone know of any Mini Rex breeders in/near Florida? (preferably Central Florida) I know this is a sub for meat rabbitrys but I figured I could ask-please let me know if it is not allowed!

I have no knowledge of your area, but your best bet would be checking Facebook and shows for active breeders, as well as the ARBA breeders list.

From what I have seen, many of the ARBA registered breeders have quit breeding, and for some reason my facebook doesn't work, but I have not checked every ARBA Mini Rex breeder so hopefully I find one, thank you!

Good luck in your searches!
If you can find shows close to you to attend, that’s the best place to find breeders and start networking, in my experience. Usually they will know someone even if they don’t have the breed or availability you are looking for.

I know your Facebook doesn’t work currently, but if that gets fixed, I did find a Mini Rex group in Florida.

No clue how active they still are!

Old Providence Homestead breeds mini rex in Florida, not sure exactly where though. There's also Wilhelm Flock and Field, they're in DeLand, FL though I'm not sure if they breed mini or just standard rex. You can also check with the National Mini Rex Rabbit Club for breeders, they can help you find a local breeder. Are you looking for specific colors? I can reach out to my breeder contacts and see if there's anyone breeding certain colors near you if you'd like.

I am not necessarily looking for specific colors, but a lilac or a blue (any type) would be great! I reached out to all of the breeder contacts from the NMRRC and ARBA, but nobody responded.
