Now that we’re In September and nearing offseason I have one suggestion that might change this franchise forever and I mean it. Since MLBPA will never accept a cap. Alr no cap no problem. This is my suggestion a hard floor since MLBPA wants this but instead of being a fine when you overspend you get penalized big, like if you don’t spend with the new floor you can lose draft picks, revenue, TV money, etc. Don’t you guys remember when he said “will spend when the time is right.” Think about it 2027 might be just that marlins fans. A hard floor with a bigger and better penalty tax. Guys ik you will say “oh don’t get your hopes up.” Or “they will never accept that.” I’m being honest Sherman wants a floor he’s one of the few owners who wants a floor so WHY NOT. GO FISH!!! 2027 will be amazing just you wait. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the marlins are mentioned in the talks for the CBA. Also you will see attendance go up and the fan base grows more and more and even the YouTube channel too.

hi all! seeing as this is the official miami matlins subreddit i'm confident you will be most helpful in this dilemma i have

so to start off i've owned this souvenir baseball in pitch perfect shape since i bought it sometime in soflo in the 2010s at an official match between miami marlins and minnesota twins. albeit the fact i have little knowledge of baseball, this ball is extremely dear to me as my dad lended me his money to spend it on whatever i'd like in the souvenir shop or food stands since it was a summer camp field trip. i remember coming home that very day and seeing my dad's thrilled face of approval.
for a few years now we find ourselves in different parts of the world and anything physical that reminds of him is very beloved to me. i proudly showed off my baseball on my nightstand since. recently i went on vacation to reunite with him with a preexisting anxiety that something could happen to my belongings. its worth noting i literally have a dozen week old puppy in my household at that point and would be looked after a family member of mine. my room being the primary space this puppy should have been existing in as it was the most puppy proof in the household.
lo and behold i come back from vacation and see my things are not on my nightstand. i am informed that the puppy had been reaching the stage of her development where they were a hair away from knocking stuff from shelves and furniture hence why my things were put away in a bag. i nod and say i understand and think nothing of it for a time.
this evening, when i finally decide to reorganize my room i find i have everything secured except this ball. i kid you not i bawled my eyes out for the past hour or two and just ravaged through the godforsaken house looking for it. i ask around if anyone had seen the ball and my first response, from the family member responsible for the looking after the puppy and the room in general is that it was last seen on the floor. i then ask another family member who took after cleaning my room after our flight back and they conclude that the ball is in fact all chewed up to no end and that now they can't even remember where they put it after emptying the room.
i am far from a materialistic person and have little care for such things but this is such a dear trinquet to me that i am far from okay with parting with it, even if it is somehow returned to me in a less than perfect state. i will literally hold on to pijammas ruined and in shambles but this is something i will not put up with.

i can't think of many things left to say so without further ado i apologize for ending this abruptly and above all for the rant. i am in an embarrassingly emotional state of jetlag but regardless i deeply appreciate anybody who helps or sympathizes with this. thank you ❤️‍🩹

TLDR came back from vacation to a lost but ultimately chewed-up-by-a-puppy baseball and in search for it.

Hi Marlins fans! I’m going to be attending the 9/12 game vs the Dodgers at loanDepot. I’m staying at the JW in downtown Brickell and was wondering what the best option for transportation would be. Is Uber just the easiest route? I know Miami has some public transit but not sure how easy/convenient it is to the ballpark from where i’m staying.

DDLS should been allowed to stay in the majors from moment he was brought up to play his natural 3rd base or help at 1st and DH which Ramirez, and Jimenez are wasting the 2026 season learning at the majors how to play positions they don't know how to play during a possible playoff run... While Caleb Ferguson has had a bad year maybe he can come in and eat up some innings from the pen. Sometimes players just don't work out on some teams but when the right team get them they perform. With the need this team has they should pick up give him some looks out of the pen, and see how he does. He's been good before this year so it's a low risk possible good ROI for them fish.
