I felt pretty guilty for getting these off marketplace for $120 total, but I honestly never thought I’d end up with any Brasilia. Not pictured are the mirror and other nightstand.

I need to replace a few of the marbles on the handles, but I found this adorable jewelry box at a sale this weekend and I am so obsessed. In the back, you can see the name of the person who made this, as well as the date. It is in such great condition and was only $25. So happy about this lovely find and glad it is getting a new home where it will be loved and appreciated! 😊 *I do NOT need help identifying this, just showing it off*

JR is one of the GOATs but he sold his company too early and seems to get no recognition even though a lot of his designs are still in production and other big companies like Thos Moser seem to have derivative designs. I picked up both of these pieces a couple weeks ago for a few hundred each and then got the chair reupholstered in leather. Love how all of his designs have a floating effect.

I think I’m going to get a really beat up chair next and try to bring it back to life myself seems like a fun project

Im in need of help with identifying what looks to be a 1970s Modular Couch .

I tried my best to photograph the couch as is.

The zippers are from Opti, it has ball feet underneath, and sadly no labeling anymore.

Would greatly appreciate any help with pinning down the old manufacturer or, at best, even the exact model.

Pretty sure it's a West German product.

Wondering if anyone has any info on this lamp as I haven’t found any identifying marks yet. I do not believe it is a modern reproduction based on the cord and where I obtained it (abandoned house of my great grandparents). The shade is not original.

Also would love any advice you can offer on cleaning the base. It’s in surprisingly great shape overall.

Hi, I recently bought this 1960s McIntosh teak dining table at auction and am looking for some advice on restoring it before I do anything irreversible. I fell in love with the two toned legs and rosewood banding and it's something I can see staying in my home forever so I am reluctant to start doing anything to it until I am completely sure what to do with it.

The top is teak veneer with original dark rosewood banding around the edges, which I definitely want to preserve. As you can see from the photos, the teak is in pretty rough condition. One side has lost a lot of its finish and there are some significant grey/white damaged patches, although the grain still appears to continue through them.

The centre extension section definitely needs new veneer, which I have ordered. What I’m unsure about is what to do with the two main sections of the tabletop.

Would you try to preserve the existing teak veneer by carefully stripping/lightly sanding and refinishing it, accepting that some staining or marks may remain?

Or, given its condition, would you remove the existing teak veneer and re-veneer the whole teak section right up to the original rosewood banding, leaving the rosewood intact?

My concern with the first option is sanding through the original veneer while trying to remove the damage. My concern with the second is damaging the rosewood banding while removing the adjacent teak veneer and getting a clean enough edge for the new veneer.

If re-veneering is the better option, I’d really appreciate advice on how you would remove the teak veneer right up to the teak/rosewood joint without lifting or chipping the rosewood.

Also, if you think the original teak is salvageable, how much sanding would you actually do?

I’d like to keep as much of the original table as reasonably possible, especially the rosewood detailing, but I also want the finished top to look uniform.

Any advice from people who have restored McIntosh or similar mid-century veneered furniture would be really appreciated.

My husband and I purchased the chairs pictured over ten years ago, and in talking about where we want them in our new place, I realized we don’t know anything about them.

I’ve recently moved into a new place and I’m having some trouble figuring out what walls should have prints/pictures on them. I’m planning on buying a new rug and a chair to go under the big lamp.

The sofa is centred in the room, with a set of shelves behind to create a walkway from the main entrance to the bathroom. I think this is creating a bit of confusion for me as I don’t have the usual anchor point you’d get if there was a solid wall behind the sofa!

I’ve attached two photos of two different angles of the apartment. I’m curious to know, which walls you’d choose to put art on? How would you arrange the art? i.e. one large print, multiple smaller prints, gallery wall etc. and what kinds of colours I should be looking for

Hubby and I hit an estate sale in our neighborhood. Was not looking for anything in particular but came home with these three items. The Lane piece is stunning. I have not been able to find exact piece so any help identifying is appreciated. Marked $200 and got it for $130!!!!! The lamp was $20 and spiral staircase looking display was $10. We spent most of the weekend rearranging the room around the hutch piece and we are loving the room.

I need help ID’ing this piece. It’s definitely Drexel and was bought sometime in the 50s or 60s. The pulls are very unique disc/puck-style but I can’t seem to find what line this is from and I’m slowly losing my mind.

Sorry I don’t have better photos, we’re slowly unearthing things in my grandmothers house.

My friend recently purchased a coffee table at a thrift shop in Atlantic Canada. The table is gorgeous and in excellent condition. When I did an image search, the results indicated it might be a Harvey Probber “Nuclear” coffee table. There’s one for sale on 1stDibs for about $5000 US.

The table has no manufacturer markings on it. Is there a way to tell from pics if it’s authentic?

I have a 1960s-era aluminum tree I inherited from my grandmother. (I know it shouldn't have lights, but I only turn them on when I'm in the room and they're LED and I do have a fire extinguisher nearby. For what it's worth, my grandmother did the same thing with it.). I adopted a one-year-old male cat this spring, and he's my first pet ever, so I've never had to worry about how my tree might affect an animal. I derive so much comfort from the tree during the long, dark winter and I really don't want to have to give that up.

My cat is a climber and he's very curious, and I know he's going to treat it as a big toy meant for him. My thought is to assemble it and leave it up plain for a week, then add the lights, then add ornaments at the top, then gradually add them to the bottom.

I don't think there's any point in doing a citrus spray; I bought citrus cleaning spray for my countertop in hopes it would deter him from jumping up, but he was undaunted. He's also unbothered by aluminum foil.

Does anyone have any tips? If you have any suggestions about fences/barriers, I'd especially appreciate something with a mid-century aesthetic, or ideas for how to customize it to fit in better with mid-century furnishings.

I’m having a difficult time trying to identify the manufacturer of a set of table and chairs that my wife and I brought home today. No name anywhere that I can find. Do have some stamps and a tag from Foley’s Department Store. Took the newish covering off of one of the chairs and they seem to have their original fabric well preserved underneath. Please help.

Could someone advise me on how to get the leather parts of this chair renewed? The leather on the seat is reinforced with some kind of cardboard‑like material, and it has broken. What should be used to replace it? In addition, one of the leather armrests is missing entirely.

Is it worth getting, for example, a small hand‑operated sewing machine so I can stitch leather myself?

Hey y'all! I recently got 3 Danish bookshelves and I'm curious about the maker of them as I couldn't find a makers mark anywhere.

They each have "Made in Denmark" burned into the wood on the bottom/back, an odd curved bit at the bottom/side, and have pins that the shelves stand on top of instead of sliding into.

I know they're a bit basic construction, but any help is appreciated! Very happy with how they fit with my others.
