650 Point Army
Never done a tournament. Thinking about using this, am I going to struggle?

Would recommend dropping Gimli, Sam and sting.
Get a banner and some spears with haldir and maybe 3 bows
Also worth considering Merry or Pippin and sticking them near Boromir so he can re reroll wounds

I'm curious, why do you choose Boromir over Gimli? They both have their pros, Boromir more might, Gimli much tankier. But it's the bonus he gives to Legolas that makes me think Gimli might actually be the better choice... Since I haven't played them yet but plan to, that is more a question than an opinion though.

Boromir's rule works with Frodo and Sam too, it's friendly fellowship Hobbit models

I was thinking Frodo and Sam add more and still work with Boromir like you say. I don’t have any other elves so I’m kind of stuck with all heroes. I could just play reclamation but thought this would be funny

Yeah but you don’t really want Frodo near the combat. And merry is the price of one elf so it’s not too bad if he gets killed

Yeah i played against it and you are going to struggle. Scenarios with spread objectives? Good luck. Scenarios about killing each others? A slim chance. Maybe with contest of champions you have a decent chance but eh.
Hope you get paired vs similar lists, thanks to Boromir's might you can win against a lot of tough heroes.

All hero armies are definitely tricky to pilot, especially for your first time! You can definitely still use that army, I would just recommend dropping Gimli and adding units to haldir’s warband. You can get one elf with banner, plus 8 elves with spear and 5 with bow for the same cost
