Red Ash as a sequel to Mighty No. 9 (Headcanon for fun)
I don't know how many of you remember, but Concept, the company that developed Mighty No. 9, had plans for another project: Red Ash. This game was supposed to be a spiritual successor to Mega Man Legends. Back then, they released a sort of playable "demo" that was really just a small 3D area to explore. The game featured models of Dr. White, Gregory Graham, Dr. Sanda (although it's not him, it's a humanoid balloon that resembles him), Call, and, of course, Beck. Beck and Call are playable; they can move, jump, grab onto ledges, and kick (you can also play as the protagonist of Red Ash, who shares a name with Beck, but that's irrelevant). One strange detail is that Beck doesn't have his usual appearance; instead, he has the look he gets after defeating Pyrogen.
Now I'll explain my headcanon: After the events of Mighty No. 9, Beck and his siblings were applauded and cheered... but a few months later, something happened. People started getting angry. They insulted Beck and his family, denigrating and humiliating them. Dr. Sanda closed his labs because no one wanted to do business with him anymore. He returned to Japan with his brother, leaving Call behind. Broke, Dr. White, Beck, and Call had to move to a run-down neighborhood. William found a job selling pastries, which at least provided him with enough to live on, and Beck helps him by working as a walking incinerator (hence why he always uses Pyrogen's ability). Call, abandoned by Dr. Sanda, lost her mind a bit; now she acts as if the Sanda-shaped balloon is the doctor himself. I know it's sad, but that's the sequel to Mighty No. 9. Just so you know, I'm a huge fan of the game; I'm just letting my imagination run wild for fun. I wish this game all the best; I hope it eventually climbs out of the hole it's in.
