This here is an actual M16!! It's an eagle arms a2, it's obviously a preban, just picked it up for my cold war.gun collection :)

Getting close with it, just need an NT-4, a Peq-2, and may switch my cut-carry-handle for an LMT rear sight.

Also, I do have a pressure pad on the way, a temporary knockoff one, but I haven't decided on a permanent solution yet.

I assembled this a couple years ago and sadly I don't give it all of the attention that it deserves.

Quick question for people who know more than I do. I’ve had this Centurion Arms 16” MK12 Mod H barrel for about 6 months. Maybe 100 rounds through it total. Otherwise stored in a safe in high desert (low humidity) colorado.

I recently got a borescope and found these marks inside. I used a brass brush to remove them for the 3rd photo, revealing light pitting (this mark is close to the crown). These marks are dispersed pretty evenly throughout the whole barrel, and the rest of the bore looks relatively fine.

I’m not too familiar with what constitutes bore damage, and what’s within the range of normal. Does anyone have any advice on remediating this, or if this is detrimental enough to be a genuine problem?

I live over an hour from a 100 yard range, will get out there soon to see how the accuracy is. Thanks in advance

I’ve noticed that the older Colt M4A1s in my unit (all of which are M4 conversions) along with some others I’ve seen in previous units have relatively “glossy” pistol grips compared to commercial rifles or newer M4A1s. The finish is very similar to that of the M16A1 pistol grips. Does anyone have any insight on why that is, and if there any particular sources for surplus glossy grips?
