Discussion chicken egg spawns 4 chickens instead of one

why did this happen?

If you throw an egg there’s a 1/8 chance of spawning a chicken, and if it spawns one there’s a 1/32 chance of spawning 4 instead. So basically a 1/256 chance of spawning 4 chickens.

Happens often enough that I don't even consider it that rare anymore.

Then again, i typically have a large chicken farm on every build and end up breaking thousands of eggs over the course of the playthrough, so I imagine that has shaped my view a bit.

Thats a 1/256 chance.

I once had 4 eggs, threw all 4 and ended up with baby 10 chickens. Idk what the chances are. But probably 1/100.000 or something stupid.
