Damage reduction adds as much as the effective health it gives. For example, 50% damage reduction effectively gives you 2x more health, or 35% -> 56%. Two 50's added together give 66.6% damage reduction instead of 75%. Guarding strike is the only one that doesn't diminish

It's 66.6% damage reduction. You can test in game if you want

I LOVE this artifact

Using damage reduc armor changed my life lol, and then using iron amulet too for group mob fights

👌🏽 😘 never been fine going into battle and taking damage especially with a looting sword to drop possible food to keep rehealing and gain items for battle use perfect synergy for now

Using poison seeds and updaft tome for my mob clearing

i might steal caramel's dr guide to teach more ppl on hwo dmg reduction stacks

in short, mcd calculates dr through the effective hp system, stuff like iron hide, potion barrier etc are additve modifiers, iron hide adds +1 ehp (aka double health or 50% dr) while potbar adds +9 ehp etc, thse numbers add together to form your final ehp
there are also multiplicative ehp sources, like guarding strike (2x ehp), weakening (1.6667x ehp) etc they multipliy the total ehp to get your dr

equation as follows: (1+additive+additve+additive)(multiplicative)(multi)(multi)
you need the 1 in the additive section as its your base hp

basically when used it makes you take 50% less dmg for x amount of seconds (scales with artifact power level)

Does this work better in Apocalypse? I'm on Adventure and I don't see too much benefit.

All the artifacts that work like this are better at apocalypse because the time increases and the effect stays the same.
