New EC2-EW

Post image

New receiver with screen and separated main buttons. I hope Zowie release it soon. At first, I noticed that Apex and Flamez from Team Vitality had switched their gray mice back to black. I didn’t understand why, since they’d been playing with that version the whole time—which also hadn’t been released yet (only the za12-dw and fk1-dw had come out in that color). Then, a few times during the Blast tournament, I saw that the buttons were separated on the mice and thought I was imagining things. But it turns out they’ve all already switched to the new EC2-EW version.
I think they separate the main buttons to reduce the weight, but at the same time, they wanted the design to be rigid.

They move kinda slow or am I tripping? I saw donk playing now for a few months with a zowie and people are saying it's the u3 but still not released

That one probably was donk's own mouse. But U3-EW should hopefully be released this year as well, have been waiting for it.

I was able to take a screenshot from the blast tourney from Molody's POV and it's already looking like the box is complete so I would suspect we will see this within the next month or two EC2-EW Soon?! : r/Zowie

I love the EC2-DW I got last year. What's the difference?

probably around 10g lighter judging from the recent fk1-dw release which is 55g as opposed 65

Is that all??

This was my first gaming mouse since the old Logitech days where they included added weights in the packaging so you could tune how heavy you wanted it to feel. If the only benefit is 10g, then I'll gladly pass.

The differences will probably be minimal. As this post points out, a new receiver with a screen (probably giving you stuff like: DPI, polling rate and battery info). I believe a new MCU was also included with recent releases.

Performance wise your DW version will be perfectly fine for years to come. EW version will likely just be lighter and have some minor quality of life features.

yeah times have changed. 99% of people here agree that lighter is better (to an extent), and a 10g reduction is actually pretty significant at these lighter weights. if you're not an enthusiast then obviously you won't care, in which case i'm not sure why you're even here tbh

Any higher resolution photos? I wanna see if they finally separated the main clicks from the top mouse shell.
