Alternatively, here is a template to help with purchasing advice:

  • Speed Preference: (e.g. Mud, Control, Balanced-Control, Balanced, Balanced-Fast, Fast)

  • Budget:

  • Texture Preference: (e.g. Smooth, Slightly Textured, Textured, Rough)

  • Pads you've used before:

  • What you liked/disliked about those pads:

  • Region:

  • Do you use a sleeve?: Y or N (If so, you can also include the exact model)

  • Main games: (CS2, Valorant, Apex, etc)

  • Extra requirements: (size, material/glass/cloth, sweat/humidity resistant, coated/uncoated, easy to clean, firm/soft/spongey base, etc.)

It's okay to leave some things blank or n/a if you can’t answer them.

The more context you can provide, the easier it is for others to give helpful recommendations.

I made the shift to glass pads last year and I never looked back. Absolutely morphed my skill ceiling for the better. Got “The Eclipse” here from Flash Beyond paired alongside my FAVORITE Finalmouse of all time “The Last Legend” with stock PTFE.

This is currently my favorite pad and mouse for competitive gaming however I only play Marvel Rivals. If I were to play a precision shooter like Rainbow Six or Counterstrike I’d need to go back to my Wallhack CR005.

Question/Advice Do you need to swap glass skates?

I know people here hate glass skates to death but I actually enjoy them and have enough mousepads (around 35 lol) to be fine with them killing my mousepad faster.

But my question is:

Do I need to swap them at some point? Or do they basically last forever like glass pads?

Question/Advice How often do you guys replace dot skates on a glass pad?

I’m curious when you guys actually decide it’s time to replace your dot skates.

I’m using a Pulsar X2H with 4 dots on a Moonstone ACE glass pad. Right now I’m running ESPTiger ICE V2 dots, and I usually replace them once I start noticing actual grooves/scratches on the contact surface and, more importantly, when I can hear and feel a noticeable difference in the glide.

Sometimes that happens after only about a week. Is that normal on glass?

I’m not talking about the initial break-in period where fresh skates get polished/flattened a bit and the glide changes. I usually keep using them after that. I replace them when they start feeling or sounding noticeably different again after they've already gone through that phase.

I just ordered some Abyss Gaming dots from AliExpress (a bunch of random mini 3mm dotskates, which are supposedly UPE. I'm hoping the smaller diameter and possibly harder material will make them last longer than the larger ICE V2 dots, even if they are just PTFE.

Do you guys also replace dots mostly by feel/sound rather than waiting until they're visibly completely worn down?

Question/Advice Artisan Type 99 vs Zowie H-TR

So im looking to splurge and get a new mousepad. Currently i have a D-GLOW JIU pad which to me has the perfect amount of speed and softness. I also have a La Onda Rizz which i think is to hard and fast. I have previously had an xraypad heavy bee XSOFT which i really liked.

Bottom line i want a really nice control pad that is slow and soft. I also want it to last me a long time so quality is important. The Artisan is only 10 euros more expensive in my country. Is the artisan glaze well deserved? I have been using zowie products for a long time so i know that their quality is top tier.

What would you guys recommend? Have you tried both and if so which one would you most like to use? Looking for first hand experience anecdotal suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Question/Advice Should I buy a used Saturn Pro?

i found a used saturn pro for 12$ but the seller stated that it has been heavily used for 1 year and that there are slow spots in the mousepad(but he said when he washed it, the glide got better). I was just wondering if you guys think its worth it as I currently have a Hyperx Fury S Pro mousepad that Ive been using for 5 years

Main games I play are fps games like valorant, warzone, overwatch, etc.

Question/Advice Confused on Artisan Skates! Advice for Key83 Mid

Rattling my head over which skates to get for the Ke83 Mid, as my old ones mad a very unpleasant feeling experience. I have never bought Artisan Skates but what I heard is that one of these skates don't really like the Key 83 Mid as its surface and I don't wanna have to buy more skates then I need to. Just want something that works well with the Key 83 mid and thank you!

Question/Advice artisan mousepad(or any other) or glass mousepad

so idrk anything about mousepads, i wanted a glass mousepad from clustr but i see mixed reviews which doesnt help, and i see artisan mousepads are good (i know there cloth which is different) and i see loads of positive feedback about them, but im not sure which artisan to use. i mostly play valorant and osu, at 800 dpi with 0.8 on osu and valorant 800 dpi with a slow sens, so im not really sure which would be best, i used to play on just my desk so i thought i would use a glass mouse pad

Question/Advice What aftermarket skates are the most similar to razer stock skates in your opinion?

I really like Razer's stock skates, and I'd love to get something similar for my other mice. With so many aftermarket skates on the market, I don't really know much about them. Anyone with experience with aftermarket skates able to tell me which ones would be the closest?

Question/Advice Raiden or hayate otsu v2 for competitive apex legends

I’m in high rank in apex legends, I was playing with local mouse pad which was fast but I can’t tell how much fast it was and it became muddy, I can’t decide how much fast I want,

I want something that very good for tracking and flicking, some recommend me the hayate otsu v2 and the raiden but I’m afraid the hayate otsu v2 be slow as or close to the razer gigntus v2 as I tried and found so slow in tracking enemies.

And what u recommend tell what type should I get, xsoft and soft and mid, and I wanna avoid the pad being so muddy after time, (note: I live in Egypt and the weather is bad, so the pad might get worn faster) that’s why I was thinking the raiden mid so if it’s get slower it will bit control for the pad which it will be good

I play low / medium sens. I like tracking and flicking guns

And how fast is the raiden comparing to the aqua control 2?

Feel free to recommend another artisan with “why” pls

Question/Advice Stiff Outdoor Pad

I often find myself wanting to work on the patio in the mornings, but my table isn’t a smooth surface - I.e. slatted wood. Is there a stiff pad on the market that also would be suitable for light outdoor use?

Question/Advice Brand 4114, Aero (v2) Question/Reviews

Does anyone have any experience with the brand 4114, specifically with their Aero V2 mousepads, or know of a trustworthy source who could share some firsthand impressions?
I stumbled across the brand and the mousepad on a website I regularly use. I really like the design, but there doesn't seem to be much information or many reviews available, which makes it difficult to get a good impression of the product.

Question/Advice Deathadder V4 Pro

I’ve been looking into skates for the DAV4 Pro but couldn’t find much. I was wondering if anyone could recommend me some skates. I play on an Artisan Soft, mostly FPS games (CS2, Val). I’m not sure if sensitivity in game plays a part but i lean more towards high sens.

After one hour of gaming, I can tell straight up that it's a lot smoother and offers more control than the photovoltaic glasspad I had been using.
