I just had my NDIS cut by over half. My housing is tied to my plan and the new number won't cover it. I'm glad I have a good co-ordinator who will advocate for me. I am numb and kind of done fighting.

what areas did they cut, for example was it social and community partipatons, respite? l have MS and on the NDIS, my MS has gotten worse so my support co ordinator wants to ask for a reassessment to get a new plan and ask for more funding, but l am worried the same thing that happened to you could happen to me and they might cut it instead of increasing it, so lm thinking about just keeping my current plan which doesnt expire for a year

Most of the gutting was from my core. The woman on the other end of the whole was like the NDIS asses what you need now, not what you need in the future. It's a completely 180 to what I have always been told. You can also throw the use it or loose it mentality out the window, I was on track to more or less use the plan completely before my re assessment. My mental health has also been cut. She gave the excuse that they deal only with the MS, not general mental health issues .... I'm sure I don't need to state why the excuse was nonsense. I wish you all of the luck and that your co ordinator will help fight with you and advocate for you. And make sure you appeal the decision if they try to fuck you over.
