In Ottawa, there's a bakery in our downtown market that has a wall dedicated to a visit that Obama made to the shop in 2009. The shop owner printed some photos of him and Obama and the newspaper article about the visit. I love seeing how even almost 20 years later he's still so happy about the visit that he keeps the Obama wall looking nice.

I've seen one shrine dedicated to President Trump in Ottawa. It's in the stadium at Landsdowne in a urinal in the men's washroom.

Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961, which means his prime military service age (conventionally defined as ages 18 to 26 for draft eligibility or standard peacetime enlistment) spanned from August 1979 to August 1987. During this window, the United States was not engaged in any large-scale, prolonged congressional wars, and the military draft had already ended in 1973.

Trump reached draft age in 1964. Vietnam was '65 to '73. During that time, Trump received four student deferments (2-S) while attending Fordham University and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. In October 1968, after graduating, he received a 1-Y medical draft deferment following a 'diagnosis' of bone spurs in his heels that has never once stopped him playing golf or even tennis.

I will not quibble with that. Not everybody who was drafted was terrible, but when you put a bunch a boys in a place they don’t want to be, they can act terribly.

FTR, he also wasn't old enough to be drafted into any active war. He was like 11 or 12 when we got outta Vietnam & stopped the draft. Or maybe we stopped the draft first then got outta 'Nam, I don't recall without googling. Regardless I do know he was born in 1961 so that would make him just a kid in junior high school when all that happened.

Of course he could've gone volunteer but dude wanted to get a college degree instead, as did Clinton.

I don’t know the context of this comment…but he also never pretended or claimed to? He certainly didn’t post pictures of himself in a military uniform or claim ridiculous things like knowing more about war than generals do.

And if it’s a criticism of presidents not serving, surely they levied that same criticism against Trump(spoiler, I’m sure they didn’t)
