My friend and I picked up this game and they've been decimating me with their Felicia/Ammy/Doom team especially when spamming the heavy as Ammy. Any tips and such? Change a character?

Hello. I have been competing since the early 2000s (MvC2, CvS2, 3S, GGXX), with UMvC3 as my main game. Despite attending dozens of majors and hundreds of locals, I deal with severe tournament nerves and performance anxiety.

​For the past several months, I have been labbing daily and pushing my execution. While it pays off in online casuals against many high level players, everything falls apart in tournament matches. My mind races, my heart pounds, my hands shake so hard and literally lock up mid-combo. Instead of executing optimal 1-2 touch kills, I default to safe, suboptimal 3-5 touch combos out of fear, causing me to lose to players I normally beat, respectfully.

​I play a heavy rushdown/pressure style with Vergil/Doom (Missiles). I know my optimal routes are mostly safe, but fear keeps holding me back.

​Has anyone dealt with tournament anxiety this severe after years of playing? How did you overcome the mental block? (Looking for advice without substances/medication, preferably) Thank you!

So, I haven't played MvC3, but i've watched it on youtube, and i've always had a question in the back of my mind: why don't characters like Rocket Racoon have the same problem as Yoda in Soul Calibur? I can clearly see they don't, like i said, i've watched footage of the game, but i've always struggled to put my finger on why. Thank you to anyone who indulges me on this question.

I'm getting into the game, and I'm playing Dante and Vergil, I really like them from watching a bunch of UMVC3 gameplay. Thing is that I originally though of playing Spider-Man as point, but I found out that he's complicated too. I'm confident that I could sit and learn him too but maybe it would be a bit too much if I'm also learning Dante and Vergil.

So, I was thinking of putting an easier point with a more relaxed difficulty. My first though is Nova but I have no idea so better to ask
