Product Question 🧰 Adaptor for frt device and rhodie 6j

Upvotes

Hey All,

I'm still relatively new to the world of hub compatible devices, and I want to make sure I'm not messing this up.

I have other cans, but they had dedicated muzzle devices specific to those cans

I have a rhodie 6j on back order.

Have a PWS rifle with a pinned and welded 3-port FRC muzzle device. (9 c how's she doing and edit the title to fix the typo)

That's a long muzzle device, but my understanding is that it's hub compatible

I should be able to get an atlas XL in 1.375x24 just mount it, and just screw the suppressor onto that adapter, right?

Am I missing anything?

Product Question 🧰 Question on newly threaded barrel, guessing I should cold blue it?

Upvotes

I sent out a black nitrided pistol barrel to get cut and threaded and when it came back the steel is raw where it was processed, guessing I should cold blue that before shooting?

I did a Mossberg 500 barrel after taking a hacksaw to it so I have done it before, just thought I would ask if there are better methods before I cold blue it?

The ol' 3 stamp 300 BLK. Also don't really want to grind on the bottom of this rail so the M203 sits farther back. Had to mill a slot in the 9" barrel to make it fit the shorty receiver but it had to be done.

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Bolt 5.56 suppressor recommendations.

Upvotes

Been looking to get a suppressor for my 5.56 Ruger American and keep considering the YHM fat cat since gas isn’t going to be an issue. Would like to hear any other recommendations for suppressors around that size though or hear from anyone that has a fat cat as to how well it actually performs and if y’all like it or wish you had gone with something different.

Decided to go Rhodie 6K when I saw my LGS had it on hand.

It was a toss up between Any Rhodie or Infinity556K.

Planning to keep it on my 11.5 BCM with Comstock micro and RPA.

5320.20 "Form submission was NOT successful. There was an issue generating the submitted PDF for the form."

Trying to submit a 5320.20 for an SBR. On the last page, when I click "sign & submit" and enter my PIN, I get an error saying "Message: Form submission was NOT successful. There was an issue generating the submitted PDF for the form.".

If I go back to the last page, under "summary and confirm submission", there is a link that says "click here to view pdf of completed form", under which i have a green box that says "The application has been validated successfully."

When I click the link to view the PDF of the completed form, I get a pop up saying "Message: Error generating form pdf, please confirm all attachments are uploaded and are a valid format. Please try again. If the problem persists, please contact your system administrator."

I don't have any attachments on the "electronic documents" page. I submitted another 5320.20 like 3 months ago with no issues on a different firearm / different trust. Any ideas what's causing this issue?

.300 blackout LBP can

Anyone have any decent recommendations on a low back pressure can for a 10.5 300blk AR? Preferably something that might handle supers and subs without too much tuning. I've been leaning towards the OCL infinity but It seems kinda chunky. I do like the modular end caps though.

Ambient just dropped this on their Instagram account. What do we think?

Edit: The mount is actually RH threads. I saw "reverse taper" and assumed that meant LH threads. My mistake. Honestly, that makes this mount make even less sense.

- FOR Monarch recce inconel direct threaded with OCL ti mount

I ended up liking this setup more than I expected. Slightly longer than my 11.5 with 6 inch can but similar weight

556 lbp, no gas to the face suppressors?

A little torn on what to get. Not sure what all my options are. Was originally going to go with the fireteam 556. Now looking at the dual-lok 5am but the hub compatible model. Going to do a comstock muzzle break and lpa. I definitely don’t want gas to the face…. But I also don’t want a ugly asf looking suppressor like most options are 😂 I do have a adjustable rifle speed gas block but not sure exactly how well that function with normal suppressors too keep gas out the face and lower back pressure. Any opinions? Fireteam looks better. The Griffin apparently functions better. Both a little more than I wanted to spend but under $1000 be nice for sure.

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Best 30 Cal Can for a Bolt Gun?

I’ve never owned a Bolt Gun, but I decided I wanted to dive right in. Looking for the absolute quietest can for a 16in .308 rifle. I don’t really care about weight or length.

Was looking at a few cans, but would like other suggestions if you have them.

AB Raptor 10 w/ reflex mount
PTR Vent
Sig Hexium 300
TiTrex 300SD

Thanks!

Product Question 🧰 Consensus hype .30 cal can in 2026

5.56 has all the hype this year, Fireteam 5.56, Tisha, & Rhodie 6. Is there an equivalent favorite .30 cal can that has the hype of these 3?

Product Question 🧰 Yet another Hellfire vs Plan B vs ASR

I am currently using the Area419 Hellfire system for mounting cans on my rifles.

But, now I want to be able to run a can on my FALs and there is not a Hellfire adapter for the barrel threading on the FAL. (9/16-24 LH Facemount - yes, left-handed and facemount).

I have found Plan B and ASR muzzle devices with the threading I need.

What I like about my Hellfire setup:

- It is MINIMAL weight added to the overall configuration.
- It adds less length to the overall configuration than the others - because the rear of the can actually overlaps the end of the barrel by the height of the Hellfire adapter. Instead of a muzzle brake extending into the can, it's the barrel itself extending into the can.
- Cans thread onto the Hellfire muzzle device left-handed. So, for most rifles (the ones that are RH threaded), there is no chance of loosening the muzzle device when you go to take the can off. Removing the can is tightening the muzzle device.

What I don't like is that there is nothing in the Hellfire setup to keep the can from starting to unthread itself (i.e. get loose) while shooting. You just have to screw it on really tight - which risks starting the muzzle device coming off.

I'm also not super-thrilled that the Hellfire setup doesn't leave a muzzle brake or flash hider on the gun when the can is removed. It looks a little goofy with the can off and it also does not give the presumed protection of the can's blast baffle that comes with having a muzzle brake inside the can when mounted.

My brother has the ASR 3-port muzzle brake on all his 7mm and 30 cal rifles. One of the things he likes about it is the ratcheting/clicky lock thing that goes in the can, so he never has to worry about the can starting to get loose while shooting.

But, I don't like how much weight and length that setup adds to the overall configuration. And, it is expensive. And I'm not even sure I can get an ASR mount for my TBAC 338 Ultra can.

I like Plan B for how universal it is. And that you can get it with an integrated muzzle brake for just about any rifle. And there are now recessed muzzle devices that give an overall length that is basically (for practical purposes) the same as using Hellfire. E.g. from Comstock Armory.

But, the thing that still concerns me about Plan B is there is no way to "lock" the can onto the muzzle device so it can't come loose while shooting.

Is there?

And also I don't like that removing the can also twists the muzzle device in the direction of removing it as well. Isn't it pretty easy to end up with a can that is carbon-locked onto the muzzle device and removing it ends up spinning the muzzle device off?

What are y'all doing to ensure your can doesn't start to get loose when using Plan B?
