NFC Cards Manufacturer

Hi everyone

I’m looking for reliable manufacturers/suppliers who can produce custom NFC cards in different shapes and sizes, rather than standard business-card dimensions.

I’m particularly interested in:

Custom die-cut shapes

Unique/non-standard dimensions

3D or molded NFC card designs

Premium materials and finishes

Custom branding and printing

I would love to know if you all can recommend any reliable manufacturers or suppliers that specialize in this type of custom NFC product

Unable to submit Apple’s NFC Certificate Request form for months — anyone else experiencing this?

We’ve been trying to submit the NFC Certificate Request form on the Apple Developer site, but the form simply will not submit. After completing the form, clicking “Submit” does nothing — no confirmation page, no error message, and no progress.

NFC Certificate Request

https://developer.apple.com/contact/passkit/

We’ve contacted the Apple support team and have already followed all of their recommended instructions, such as trying multiple browsers (Safari, Chrome, Edge), clearing cache and cookies, testing on different devices (Windows and iPadOS), and repeating the submission many times. The issue is still fully reproducible.

We’re posting here to ask:

  • Has anyone else encountered this NFC Certificate Request submission problem.
  • Is this a known issue with Apple’s PassKit/NFC application process.
  • Has anyone found a workaround or an alternative submission path.

Any insights from developers who have successfully submitted the NFC Certificate Request form would be greatly appreciated.

NFC card for TTRPG Items

Hi

some of my players often forget some magic items they have on their sheet or using the app.

I had made flashcard with the items on it which helped because they had they layed out so it made it easier but I'm thinking of switching it up for NFC cards as they take less place and are harder to damage.

My players are interested in the idea BUT .. I have no idea how to make it work. Anyone got an idea?

(already got a ton of NFC card for something else )

Garmin watch as alternative reader?

I'm very new to NFCs, so this might be a stupid question, but is there any way to get my garmin watch to be the reader and not my phone? I try to use my phone as little as possible, and therefore don't always have it on me. But I've always got my watch on, so I'm wondering if there is any way to reverse program something so that I can use my garmin watch as the reader instead of my phone? Thanks!

Read/write file to NFC card from PC through phone

Hey, everyone. I'm looking for a way to use my phone as an NFC reader/writer for my PC, and read/write to/from a specific file.

So, the phone connects to my computer.

Then, I tap the card/tag/whatever to my phone.

Then, the computer receives the file from the card, and that gets written to somewhere.

Then the file gets updated and gets written back to the card.

If that's not possible, just reading a file from a tag would be fine as well.

Anything easy that can do this? Thanks a ton.

bypass nfc blocker easy

Hi, I recently bought an NFC blocker and I'm very disappointed that on iOS you can simply revoke screen time permissions and thus regain full access to the apps. Is there any workaround for this?

Could an acrylic magnet with an NFC tag (no antimetal) work if i put in on a fridge?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm interested on an NFC magnet i could paste on my fridge and I stumbled upon this video. The thing is, looking online it's said that i would need an antimetal NFC tag because the metal of the fridge would render the tag useless. I've noticed those tags being thicker and I'm not sure they would be thin enough to work on the DIY-acrylic magnet thingy, plus, It doesn't look like she used an antimetal NFC sticker. Could the video be fake or is it actually possible?

NFC business cards without a subscription — honest breakdown from someone who manufactures them (DIY vs buying)

The old "best NFC business cards without subscription" thread here got deleted by its OP, and the question keeps coming up, so here's a straight answer. Disclosure first: I run a small company that makes metal NFC cards (Discard, Bulgaria), so I have a horse in this race — which is exactly why I'll give you the DIY route first.

The thing nobody selling these tells you: the subscription is never for the hardware. The chip in almost every NFC business card is an NTAG 215 or 216 — the same tag you can buy blank for well under a euro. The monthly fee pays for the hosted profile page, analytics, and lead capture. Whether that's worth paying for is a real question; the chip isn't.

DIY, zero subscription, forever: buy blank NTAG cards or stickers, grab any free NFC-writing app, and write either a URL you control or a vCard straight to the tag. Two things to know: an NTAG 215 has 504 bytes of user memory, so a direct vCard fits name, phone, email and not much else — no photo, and long URLs in the vCard eat your budget fast (216 gives you 888 bytes). And updating is a non-issue people overthink: the business card stays in YOUR pocket — you tap other people's phones — so rewriting the tag takes thirty seconds whenever your details change.

If you buy instead, check three things: (1) is the profile editable forever on a one-time price, or does editing sit behind the monthly plan — read the pricing page bottom-up; (2) locked vs unlocked tag — this is a genuine tradeoff, not a spec-sheet checkbox. A tag locked at production can never be rewritten, which protects you (nobody with 5 seconds of physical access can re-point your card at a phishing page) but also means the card depends on the vendor's domain staying alive. An unlocked tag is re-pointable forever but hijackable. Reputable vendors lock (we do); whichever you buy, ask the vendor what their wind-down story is — data export, redirects — because "what if you fold" is the question none of the pricing pages answer; (3) if it's a metal card, ask how they handle the NFC, because solid metal blocks the signal — every legit metal card solves it with an antenna window, ferrite layer, or hybrid construction, and the ones that don't answer that question are metal-look plastic.

Happy to answer manufacturing questions (fiber-laser engraving on coated metal comes out lighter than the surface, which surprises everyone the first time). What are you all writing to your tags — direct vCard or URL?

App-specific NFC tags

3D-printed signs with embedded NFC tags to be put at landmarks for a specific web app with this logo. The signs are prototypes. There are also types with a key ring and rounded corners. Also considering other types that can be put on signposts etc. Write-protected of course. Practically waterproof and the tags themselves are waterproof.

NFC pin badge with QR - for feedback

Hi all! I’m planning to create a few pins with NFC and QR codes to share with some friends, but I need some thoughts first before I make them.

I plan to make it such that the NFC remains hidden (tried it with much success) to play a simple song or calming tune that they or others can tap on with their phones to help alleviate some strong emotions or whatnot. Like they can just vibe with the song if they want to, talk about it, etc., kind of like a conversation starter if it’ll work.

The QR code on the other hand would have a list of mental health resources (such as deep breathing, coping strategies, etc.) when scanned. I’m anticipating that there may come a time where someone or one of our other friends might approach someone with the pin and not wanting to talk about much, so it might come in handy when in a pickle.

I plan to combine these both into a pin so that it would have some sort of instruction on it, maybe stuff like
“SCAN QR for MH resources” then “TAP THIS FOR A CALMING SONG”, or what, I dunno yet.

I still haven’t fully fleshed this one out, but I’m leaning to trying to make this work so that if in the event that someone might not be in the mood to talk but in the mood to interact with stuff, at least we can have them scan or tap something that can help them out.

What do you all think? Thanks in advance for your help!

NFC wristbands for kids – looking for feedback

I’ve been thinking about starting a small business around NFC wristbands for kids.
The idea is pretty simple. A child wears a wristband with an NFC chip and a QR code. If the child gets lost at a holiday resort, amusement park, school trip, etc., someone can scan it with their phone.
It would show:
Child’s name
Parent’s phone number
Language
Link to more information
The parents could add extra information such as allergies, medical information, special needs, additional contacts, etc.
I’d also like to have an optional GPS sharing feature, so parents could share the child’s location when needed.
For schools and daycares, I’m thinking about reusable wristbands. For example, a school could buy 50-100 good quality bands, each with its own serial number. Before a school trip, they assign the bands to the children. When they get back, they reset them and use them again for the next trip.
For amusement parks, hotels and resorts, I could make custom wristbands with their logo and branding.
The basic family version could be cheap, with a subscription for extra features.
Later I’d potentially expand the same system to luggage tags, pets and elderly people.
I’m curious what people think. Would you actually use something like this for your kids?
