Story time I accidentally kissed by my boss today

First of all WANTAM!

Guys I wish the ground could swallow me up.

So today our new boss reported today and she was being introduced to everyone. When I went to shake her hand, she leaned in for a hug so I quickly had to manoeuvre into a hug. You know when your hugging someone how one person should go left and the other goes right... well I guess we are both lefties and we went left, our lips lightly brushed up against each other.

I mumbled an apology and just quickly ended the hug. Luckily she was so sweet about it but I was dying of embarrassment😭😭

Well I am going to avoid her for a while till my mind deletes this memory.

Ps. I am also a woman

Discussion Worship Jesus, Eat Jesus

Post image

Many of you really warmed up to this, albeit in a very shortsighted manner.

"Worship Jesus, Eat Jesus" is a popular saying Chinese contractors use in Majority Christian African countries. The premise is, Jesus doesn't pay your salary, so why would you fail to work on a Sunday?

You may not like Churches or Religion, but one thing religion ascertains the average worker is at least a day off on the basis of Religious Freedoms and this is equally passed to non-religious people.

Rant It Never Gets Better

I am tired of the daily struggles just to live. Especially if you come from a poor family. I have been struggling the longest. And things are only changing for the worst. Everyday passing is a missed opportunity, and you end up wondering how you got here. The worst part about it all is,

You are aging.

I don't even have the energy to keep going. You try talking to people. Not directly, but subliminal messages. The last time I tried opening up, it ended horribly for me. People look at you weirdly.

Burying family members from as young as 7. I wish I offed myself the time it crossed my mind at age 9. The Dostoevsky quote where he says you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothing hits hard.

U am partly to blame for all this, coz in life, ignorance is no way to defend yourself. I'm really gone so far. I don't know how to turn back or where to go. I shielded myself to avoid getting hurt. The walls were a prison I jailed myself. I got contented by solitude and it is a catalyst for misery. Mid 30s no friends, no family, no kids. Just me with not much to show for.

I am greatful for good health but I feel like the body is giving up already. Just ranting. Don't feel sorry for me, keep your pity and your sympathy.

Thank you for reading .

Ask r/Nairobi Where do you guys go for a drive to freshen up

Today was one of those really tough days, and I thought going for a drive might help clear my head and just freshen up a little. But then I realised….. I had absolutely no idea where to go.

So, where do you guys go around Nairobi when you just want to get in the car, drive, and clear your mind?

Insightful I THINK I MISS MYSELF

I used to paint without needing a reason, used to go fishing on the weekends, go new places and I would take pictures and videos of ordinary things. I used to write poems when I felt like I had a lot to say.

Then life became difficult

One challenge after another and somewhere in between surviving it all, I stopped creating, stopped looking for beauty. I stopped being curious.

It’s been almost a year now, everything still feels less interesting. Days pass, and sometimes I wonder where that version of me went. The strange thing is that I don’t think I stopped loving those things. I think I just became too tired to reach them.

God knows how much I want that life again. A life where I feel something deeply, where I wake up wanting to create, to explore, to write, to notice and document things.

I hope I find it again

Just finished this artwork called, 'in due time' one of nine paintings representing the fruits of the Holy Spirit. This one represents patience

The glare was perfect for the gold foil but not so great for the painting so l included a photo of the painting at the end of the video, of how it looks under proper lighting ☺️

RUTO GOTTA GO Women In Men Spaces

Passed by Think Twice and noticed the women were queuing up at the men's fitting room, as the men also waited in line but no man turned to use the women's fitting room even when it was not occupied.

Have noted the same in events and clubs too, women use the men's washrooms alot...and very sure if men used women's washrooms ile nduru itapigwa calling men creeps and all sorts of names. Women usually say their washrooms are full, let us use the men's washrooms while men wait their turn to pee too....

Why can't women stick to their spaces and we all live in harmony without boundary issues.

Relationship Guy I'm seeing admitted he slept with someone else. Should I keep seeing him?

I've been seeing a guy for about two months and things seemed to be progressing in a positive direction.

This weekend he confessed that he slept with someone else. According to him, he was drunk, lost his judgment and made a mistake. He said he felt guilty about it and wanted to be honest with me.

The thing is, we never explicitly had the exclusivity conversation, so technically he didn't break an agreement. At the same time, it still stings because I wasn't seeing anyone else and thought we were moving toward something more serious.

Part of me appreciates that he told me, but another part wonders if this says something about his character.

For those who have been in a similar situation, would you continue seeing someone after this? Does the fact that he was honest about it change anything?

Looking for outside perspectives.

Entertainment The Best Video game that reflects real world scenarios.

Post image

So I found this game a week ago and have been playing for sometime now. Nowadays I spend hours on it.
There are currently 20 kenyan citizens in our country. This is a good RPG game and the more you dwell on it the more interesting it becomes.
Calling fellow Kenyan gamers to join and make our country great. We need more citizens so we can become more powerful.
Kenyan is ranked as top 3 countries who spend a good time on the internet, social media and video games. It wont be a bad idea to spend a few minutes per day in the game to make our country stronger. If you have any questions I would put discord link in the comments as well as the game link.

Happy Birthday My 22nd Birthday

Today is actually my 22nd birthday. Am I excited? I don't know. What's unusual about this day is that I decided I won't remind anyone about this day like I used to do in the previous years. Kitambo ilikuwa inabaki 1 week ama 3 days na nishaambia kila mtu about my birthday coming.

I decided not to do it this year and guess what? Nobody remembers and it feels kind of sad to go unnoticed given that its the day itself and no one has said a word about it🤧 not family not friends. All in all we got no one but ourselves right?

Rant I Got a Job... But Somehow I’m Still Struggling

Hi, I’m back again with my ranting.

I’ve realized I always feel more comfortable writing about my problems online than actually sitting in front of someone and talking about them. So here I am again.

After everything I posted before, I finally got a job or at least I thought I did. I went to apply for a waitress position and somehow ended up training as a casino dealer. I was actually excited because I thought, finally, maybe things were starting to change.

The problem is that the training has now taken almost 2 months.

Remember, I have three kids, and for a long time I've been living hand to mouth. Life has been exhausting. Some days I wake up at 4 a.m. because training starts at 6 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. Other weeks I'm on the 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. schedule.

And because I can't go home empty-handed, I still try to find something else to do around the training. I've learned to knock on people's doors and ask if they need housekeeping, laundry, errands, anything I can do.

I've even been called a scammer because apparently, "what young woman goes around looking for odd jobs?" Meanwhile, you'll see older women sitting outside gates around Kilimani waiting for work. I honestly don't understand why me trying to find a way to feed my children is suspicious.

During the casino training, we're given KES 200 per day for transport, but it's only paid at the end of the month. The bigger problem is that nobody can actually tell us when the casino will open.

At first, we were told the 25th of this month. Then it became the 1st.

Now we're being told maybe the end of next month.

And I'm tired. I'm seriously considering quitting because I don't know how long I can keep surviving on promises of "soon."

My daughter is sitting her KEPSEA this year, and I haven't even cleared everything or bought what she needs for school this term. I recently moved into a new house hoping things would get better, but rent is still a struggle.

We've also been without electricity for 2 weeks for not paying rent on time.

Sometimes I think, "Okay, I'm finally getting back on my feet." Then suddenly everything starts crumbling again.

And that's probably the hardest part. It's not even one huge disaster. It's just one problem after another, and every time I think I'm finally okay, something else happens.

I know some people will say I'm making excuses or that I should just find another job. Believe me, I'm trying. I've been knocking on doors, taking whatever work I can find, and training for two months because I thought this could finally give my children and me some stability.

I don't know whether to keep holding on or quit and find something else.

Anyway... that's my update.

Just another chapter from the woman who apparently keeps failing, getting back up, and trying again.

I'm tired, but I'm still a mother.

SERIOUS POST Need advice from Docs onboard!

I've been dating my girlfriend for the last 3 yrs, she has HIV which is virally suppressed and undetectable ( U-U ). She's been taking her meds (ART) and we've been sexually active. We're at that stage of making a decision to get married and start a family. We've genuinely been supporting each other and our lives are well off. We don't have any kids yet but we plan to get kids. With that said it means I'll have to have unprotected sex and my concern is will I get the virus? Will our baby be HIV positive?

Disclaimer: I don't need relationship advice.
