Looking for a cute name for a sweet girl!
r/NameMyDog • u/[deleted] • Jun 15 '23
Welcome to /r/NameMyDog
To better help you come up with a name, please include a picture and if your pup is a boy or a girl (don’t worry if you’ve forgotten, we have boy/girl flair you can add 🐕)
Once you finally decided on a name, we would love to know what you selected. There is flair for that also. Just choose the flair [named: ADDNAME] and edit/replace ADDNAME with your dog’s new name

Hey everyone 👋🏻
My family will welcome a miniature poodle puppy mid of September from an H-Litter - the tiny black one was preliminary named Hope (as she’d been the smallest and they really had to pull her through) and her two brown sisters are currently named after the colors of their collars (green and orange) - we‘re still waiting for the allocation of puppies for each family but are allowed to choose a name with H or one with H and a second name as nickname (for example Emily-Rose called Rose)
Looking for some max. 2-syllable inspiration for either a tiny black or little brown puppy that won’t become extremely large either (max 5kg) - I’ll show you the name and which puppy we got when we get the news :-)

About this dog:
Male
Very athletic, can clear 4 ft fence easily and nonstop, never runs out of battery power lol
Still very timid, but very sweet, playful, loves to run.
Such a baby face.
I was thinking Cricket or Roo but i've heard Roo used quite a bit before and i'm not set on Cricket quite yet.
Name suggestions please! 🐾

Im getting a very handsome little Belgian Malinois for work. I love silly names. I do NOT want something like Riot, Havoc, Mayhem, anything of the sort… please no. Lol. I love goofy like Lunchbox, Pocket, Crouton, something weird!! But whatever you like.
Thank you!!

So I pick up my new dog from the shelter this coming Friday. I’ve had dogs in the past and I loved them- one in particular who died to soon. I fell in love with this cutie as soon as I saw his floppy ears and 💕 shaped nose. He was rescued from NC, fostered and now he’s ready to be adopted. I want to give my dog a GOOD, STRONG name but also something kind. So far I like Ademu, Ade(A-day), Enzo and Koda. Any suggestions?

Just got these two sweethearts today. We’re big Potterheads but not sure that is the way to go but definitely open if it fits. We currently have a dog named Buddy so two more “Bs” might be fun. They’re a lot of energy so hard to get them together. Sorry for the creepy hands in the one picture.

Husband and I aren't having any luck with a name for our new pup. Little guys still pretty shy and timid, his mama was a stay that had her litter under a old shed

I usually don't have trouble with names, but I'm really struggling with her. She is a 10 week old blue Doberman. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Rescued an 8 month old shepherd mix. We spend a lot of time in the outdoors, hike and camp a ton. She is super goofy and energetic. Shelter name was Rabbit, it really doesn’t fit her. Looked at standard popular names, nothing really caught my eye. Now that we officially adopted her after fostering for a month, would love some naming ideas. We live in the PNW, into outdoors in the summer, into sci-fi in the winter. All ideas welcome

She’s an English setter. 13 months. She’s super sweet and very ladylike (delicate, reserved) but she’s also athletic (fast and typical birding instincts)
We considered Dolly after Dolly Parton but will that become popular?
We’ve had dogs subtly named for the Beatles but for different reasons (Rigby, as in Eleanor Rigby so we wouldn’t be all the lonely people).
We’re into Harry Potter, golf, baseball (Giants fans) but we’re open to anything!
I did edit the background to protect the fosters.

Hi all - My dog’s name from the shelter is Panda, which is definitely fitting! But I was trying to think of something a little more girly if possible.
She is chonky, completely lazy, quiet, and chill about everything. She’s great with all adults, kids/babies, and animals.
I’m trying to think of something cute/clever to name her. Maybe something related to bears, chonky/lazy things, related to her coloring, or other cute names? Help please! 🙏🏻

we don’t have her yet, but my family can’t agree on a name that we all 100% like. some of our options right now are june/junie, winnie, pepper, and birdie. we would prefer an original, pretty sounding name! thanks in advance 🫰🏼

Just picked up this little girl and really have to decide on a name now, but I have so many names in mind
- Toni (I think she looks like Tony the Tiger on the cereal box but there’s another cartoon character she reminds me of but I can’t remember the name)
- Tiger (same reason but sounds less like a girl name? although she kinda acted like a tiger today)
- Poppy (my first thought was to name her after a red flower, hence poppy, but it sounds so similar to puppy…I Don’t know she’ll be able to tell the difference?)
- Belly/Bell/Belly Bean(my intrusive thought. also Fairy bell is a cute plant native to pnw)
- Goose(another intrusive thought)
- Lady “No Photo Please” (she’s the one puppy who refused to look at the camera every time)
Yeah but let me know what name might suit her! Any name! I’m open to adding more options on my list and decide later.
