Lilibet

I personally love this name, it feels very feminine and timeless, however everytime i mention it to anyone they don’t like it and think it’s odd. Let me know your opinion 😊

God, no. It was Queen Elizabeth's nickname, appropriated by Meghan Markle.

Imagine being over the age of five and having to go by that childish name.

I think 'appropriated' is a strong word choice here. Prince Harry (nickname for Henry) is justified in naming his child after his grandmother. If Lilibet is childish then fine, but I don't see people repelling at names like Molly, Daisy, and Lucy so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

Why is it assumed that she's to blame for this name? I feel like it's more likely he wanted to name the child after her since she's his grandma and it doesn't seem like Meghan Markle has great associations with the royal family besides him. I'm not up on all the royal lore so maybe I'm missing something and he was against it

Harry did it as a suck-up to his grandmother, but it's common knowledge that the Queen was not happy about it.

It was used as a private nickname by her grandfather, then later by her husband Prince Philip. It would be the same as having your grandson call their child "Snookums" or "Peachybum" - something that's meaningful for you but not necessarily for public use.
