I have a stay at the Bright Angel Lodge in November. I’m worried it won’t be up and running yet. I am considering a backup plan. Anyone been to Bryce canyon in mid November? Is it worth it, even if it will be almost closed for the season? Do you think the Bright Angel Lodge will be opened by then? I’m so sad for our national parks. This is my 50th birthday trip so I’m really overthinking a lot.

I was under the impression that I can book my 3 night stay once the first night becomes available for booking and then extend it into the week. However, it isn't letting me select dates into the NR days.

I'm trying to book a site that releases spots two weeks in advance, so I want to figure this out before my desired dates release soon. How do I deal with this? I want to book a site for Sunday night through Wednesday morning. Do I have to wait until Tuesday night is released to book? That makes me nervous. It's at Zion, so pretty popular.

If you have Labor Day plans, here's a heads up.

A wildfire broke out Tuesday afternoon roughly 10 miles west of Yosemite National Park, prompting authorities to order evacuations and close Highway 140, one of the main routes into the park only a few days before Labor Day Weekend.

Did a weeklong roadtrip to Arches NP, Yellowstone NP and Grand Teton NP in July 2026. It was my first time to those parks and they were breathtakingly beautiful! Really hope to come back for a second visit in the off-season, when they’re less crowded.

Hi all - have a campsite with friends in Lassen for 2 nights but am recovering from a hairline fracture in my tibia which means unfortunately no hiking. A few years ago I did some great hiking in Lassen and summited Lassen Peak, visited Bumpass Hell, etc, but wondering now how I can make the most of this trip if I've got about ~5k steps/day in the tank.

Staying at Summit Lake South. Obviously it's a huge bummer but gotta do what you gotta do! Thanks in advance.
