I’ve been working on this canvas doing the skip tent for the first time and I seem to have messed it up in between the W of NEW and the Y of York. Do you think it looks obvious? Should I frog it and does anyone see where I went wrong? Thanks for your help!
There’s quite a few areas I’m seeing where you switched how you were stitching. For skip tent, you want to stick to either the steps or the poles. I saw someone say “work the poles” in a comment one day and that’s how I stitch my skip tents
I’d do a full coverage back. The thread “dandruff” showing through the canvas is a bit obvious. If you go back and do a full coverage, you won’t be able to see it and it would prevent you from having to frog all your hard work.
I don’t think this is crazy obvious but this would also drive me crazy so personally I’d frog it - you don’t have that much of an area to redo and it’ll also disconnect somewhere else if you keep going with the mistake
Looks like you jumped over to the skipped hole in that area where it broke. Your stitches should connect in a neat diagonal line from bottom left to top right, you can see the area where you just shifted one hole over and the stitch should be in the empty area
If I am ever a little lost or unsure while compensating, I just start from an area where I know the stitch is right. IE on this canvas I’d frog the area that is clearly off, and then start working on the top left and connect it from there. Better to go back and fill in the letters than miscount and stitch a large area wrong
Personally would frog the entire project. Especially for a stitch like this, you should always do the white background first, and then a darker color after. The orange is being carried through a lot of the project, and it looks messy. Don’t carry your threads across either!
This is a really good piece of advice, OP. I also learned it the hard way. Always do a white or light-colored background first and then put the darker colors through.
