factual Reddit sucks
People here are horrible. This place is full of hatred and disrespectful people. You can’t even express your opinion without being cancelled by mods even if you didn’t say anything wrong and even if you respected the guidelines, only bc they may not agree with you. This place SUCKS. And most of you can’t even understand a fucking text!

It’s genuinely amusing how people get banned from subreddits constantly over the pettiest and stupidest of things. No other website is run by a small group of people that ban hundreds of people across the entire site for minor differences of opinion

I don’t doubt you’ve run into the crap side of Reddit, there’s definitely a tough culture around here, where people downvote and argue for sport - that part sucks. But if you take some time to find smaller subs they can honestly be pretty great! Too many anonymous people hide behind screens and let go of pent up frustrations. There are still some awesome sub Reddit areas where cool and helpful users exist. It’s just increasingly harder to find them if you’re seeing larger subs.
Sad to say but you might want to avoid politics, NTA/AITA, religion and gender/preference areas - they can be notoriously brutal due to strong opinions. Anything with close to (or over) 1mill members is going to be a hard one. Though some Reddit members can be jerks, and it seems like many of them are at times LOL, there are way more people outside of Reddit that gather knowledge from this platform. So putting out well thought out ideas and opinions for others is highly valued amidst (and apart from) the jerks.
Also, subs are very particular about reading rules. That way posts can be cleanly presented and easily read. Good grammar is highly policed. You can misspell etc., but if someone posts a wall of texts with no paragraphs it’s sincerely hard to read. I still read them, but a lot of people will downvote or it might get deleted. Rules will be the biggest one to watch. Anything that doesn’t align with the rules will likely get deleted or crapped on. It’s equally tough if you don’t know where to post things. Time and navigating will make things much easier for anyone.
Hope your experiences get better in other forums, and maybe at some point you’ll feel better about venturing into tougher subs once you get more comfortable in Reddit’s seemingly “group think” environment. I definitely feel like many of us have wound up in this forum with some hot things to say at one point in time or another! LOL

I don't think the whole site sucks. But many, many subs are filled with bitter, anal retentive mods that look for excuses to suspend or ban users. They do it for enjoyment. I noticed a long time ago even in the real world that volunteers are often not out to help what they are volunteering for. They have ulterior motives and the free work gives them a free pass to abuse their power.
