To be honest I hated that he was the reason that Nick and Jess left the loft. I understand the joke if him not understanding how to make a proper prank but that was just annoying and sad. Including the fact that a lot of their friends joined in on that prank.

I don't know because for some reason, I think that none would be great hosts haha. Think about it when looking back when they had guests over.

Hello everyone!
Well over a year ago I came to this subreddit looking for niche symbols that represent New Girl because I was surprising my three roommates with personalized mugs and one of them is obsessed with New Girl.
I never gave a proper update of the mug, so here it is! Thank you for everyone who gave me ideas to incorporate! I hope you love it :)
If you would like to see āThe Roommate Series,āfeaturing all three mugs, you can check out my latest post on Instagram @rojeanasstudio š

Rewatching with my teen daughters and my 13 yr old just noticed that the shirt Jess made Spencer take off in episode two is what she is wearing in the season one Thanksgiving episode š¤Æ. I have watched this show at least 4x thru and never noticed this. The kids are alright!

Just finished watching new girl for the first time and i had no such opinion of cece as a bad character but towards the latter seasons it feels more like when she talks to jess, she isnt really her bestfriend anymore but just schmidtās wife, she was more of winstonās bestfriend and jess by the ending was like sort of a filler friend for them

I'm in season 2, and so far it's a show which I quite enjoy at times. But I'm a little surprised by how unlikeable i found certain characters and sub plots.
Take cece's hypocrisy. She's usually on about how guys aren't nice, and cheats on the one nice guy she gets, by kissing Schmidt. Just cuz she got called "nice" and she freaked out (??). They never address it again.
Then there's jess's ex, Paul, who cheats on his gf with jess. Because apparently he freaked out over proposing to his gf ? Huh ?? It got weirder when Jess convinced his gf to forgive him.
Idk I feel some of these situations are handled a little ridiculously. It would be different if the show didn't take itself seriously, but it does.
Edit: okay the sheer number of people triggered over this post has me laughing so hard š Even had someone bring up media literacy and political climate into this. How pretentious can you get ? Lol at this point I'm just sitting back and watching idiots lose their shit over this šæ

This has probably been discussed here many times but i came across this beautiful edit on tiktok and all the comments are the same āschmidt cheating is so out of characterā. This comment is everywhere when it comes to New Girl content
Its gotten to the point that i decided to rewatch the show for the hundredth time because in my memory it was perfectly in his character to cheat on Cece and after rewatching i feel even more certain its in his character
I think people confuse season 4-7 Schmidt with season 1-3 Schmidt. Schmidt was insecure and desperate to prove himself. Schmidt has always had a problem with following the grain of other men even if heās not like other men. Because heās āmetrosexualā, he easily falls into peer pressure. He wants to be adored by Nick, respected by Benjamin, seen as a baller by Coach and Winston.
We have to remember Schmidt was an awkward fat kid who didnāt get girls, grew up with an in-and-out father, his mom a lesbian and clearly has no boundaries with him. Schmidt is trying to heal his internal childhood wounds with the validation of women and men.
Schmidtās mindset, morals and values are childish, shallow and selfish. heās torn between who he really is and who heās trying to be
Schmidt cheating is actually what causes him to grow. Its the hurt that he puts Elizabeth and Cece through that gets him to become the better man that deserves Cece (as weird as that may sound)
Also Cece needed to change as well. That guy from the Indian Wedding Convention episode was right when he said Cece doesnt think anything through! She just jumps head first and doesnāt care about who she hurts. She strings Schmidt along, rejects him, then decides to marry someone else even though she KNOWS she loves Schmidt. Schmidt came to her multiple times and she made it clear she wasnāt interested and it isnāt until heās already moved on that she decides to be honest (on her wedding day to another man, i might add). I think she thought Schmidt would always be there waiting for her, she could call whenever and he would drop everything and run like a desperate dog. Schmidt cheating causes her to change her whole life path and attitude toward relationships
If the cheating hadnāt happened Cece and Schmidt would have gotten together too soon, crashed and burned. This way they had time to grow without one another, become genuine friends, build a foundation based on genuine love and friendship, instead of a foundation built on lust and secrecy
The cheating was perfectly(sadly) in character and dare i say (i know ill get attacked for this), needed for both characters

Last week I made a post talking about if I should watch the last season or not. Some people said no, some said yes, some were mean. I tried giving it a shot and actually loved it, the first episode is ass, but the rest is so cute and such a great ending for the show. And opposite to what some said, I don't think the writing is bad, it has really great moments and the chemistry is still there.

Okay I just finished season 1 and started season 2. Idk if I (26f) just have had bad experiences, but I feel like Iāve always wanted to be have close, strictly platonic relationships with male people like Jess has with the guys in the show (though I know itās not strictly platonic with nick). Yet I feel like every male friendship I have turns into a) the guy wanting something more and then losing interest in our friendship when he finds out he canāt have it or b) the guy crossing some boundary which causes me to distance myself. Alternatively, if guys see Iām in a relationship or theyāre in a relationship, sometimes it seems like they are not even interested in me as a human being.
I find it extremely unrealistic that an attractive girl could move in with 3 guys around her age and all of them are super respectful towards her and care about her deeply as a person without expecting anything sexual from her. Iām sure there are guys out there like this, but I feel like shows like this give me unrealistic expectations for friendship. Anyone else?
