How long does the hiring process take typically?

So about a 8 days ago I verbally was told by the store manager that corporate wanted to offer me a position as a Retail Service Specialist (used to be a PSM at Autozone), I told him I would accept the position and I was told they would start the hiring process. How long does it usually take until I start my first day typically? I have a clean record so I know I should pass the background check no sweat but just am unfamiliar with how long the hiring process takes at O’Reillys is. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I get that but I believe it'll take about the same eta regardless of position

3 months? I wonder if it’s their system or something. I have heard many different answers but one common thread I’ve heard is they switched to workday system and it drastically slowed down things. Hopefully mine doesn’t take too long. First time I been unemployed in almost 4 years so time has been dragging ya feel me.

Workday is more "thorough", but it doesn't change how 90% of the time it's the SMs not controlling payroll.

I heard the same. On another Reddit post I saw countless people say Workday make it a bitch of a process hiring people. Even low level roles. I am getting hired as a retail service specialist too so hopefully it doesn’t make it even longer cuz of security clearance in a sense because of the fact that I get a key to the store, alarm code, etc. who knows lol but I’ll just be happy when I can work again finally.

Workday isn’t the issue; SMs that can’t manage their payroll and force DMs and RDs to scrutinize and justify every single hire is the issue.

I feel u. I just meant I’ve heard on other reddits that workday was the issue but you may be right. Corporate being constantly involved in decision making over everything really can kinda slow shit down so I wouldn’t be surprised.

Trust me from being on that side of it, I’m not wrong. And it’s not that we constantly have to be involved in every decision, but when a SM can’t manage payroll but is constantly complaining that they don’t have enough help we have to step in and say no more often than not.

Naw I feel that, SMs definitely can make or break the hiring process. The sm at the store I’m going to seemed like he knows what he’s doing but shit I just met him ya feel me

I was hired pretty much immediately. Submitted application at like 2am then at like 10am got a call from the sm to go in for a interview that same day..and then started the following week.

I got a call back on Friday and interviewed same day, went for a drug test on monday, started on Wednesday as a driver.

It did take about a week and a half for my driver's check to come back.

Not sure why, I have a perfect driving record, never any criminal charges, perfect credit.

Usually it has to go through 2-3 people that have to check their inboxes related to hiring. And depending on your regional manager, district manager, and store manager, that’s what stalls many candidates. Just one guy telling the next “hey check your inbox and approve”.
