Question abandoned evans lab query
hello all, I am a second year and have visited the abandoned evans lab several times. I've found all sorts of things in there, floppy disks, vhs tapes, old ass textbooks that were published before Rutherfordium was discovered, and I have assumed that the lab was abandoned in the early/mid 90s. can anyone confirm if i'm correct, or if they actually know the official, like, "abandonment" date? thanks guys!
EDIT: talked to my chem ta supervisors it was in fact abandoned in the 90s. Pretty cool if anyone wants to check it out, it’s like trapped in time.

Well, it def wasn’t abandoned in the 90’s. I had lots of classes there in the aughts! Unless they abandoned and unabandoned…look for my pchem book while you’re in there, though!

is this the building itself or a certain room? I’ve never heard of this and I’m super interested

Evans is not abandoned. Don’t spread that around. Someone will take that as an invitation to be someplace they shouldn’t or take something they shouldn’t. If busted, the staff will not be shy about calling campus police.

obviously not saying people should be stealing or anything but ive never seen anything match the description of abandoned more than the second floor

Evans is not abandoned. My office is in Evans and so are many of the other chem lecturers! Some, not all, of the Evans lab spaces are still being used as well.
The majority of the chemistry department research was moved out of Evans into CBEC in 2015. Many of the unused rooms and labs have been cleaned out and untouched since then.
