Discussion Is Flex viable in console GM+?

Yeah, that’s it, does a Flex player content agains a good (legit) histcan or is the aim assist console meta too dominant? I’m a PC player and my Console friend talks about hitscan like they’re Baal or somsht

I mean its probably exaggerated a bit, but it is a massive difference to pc. Flex is still generally good, but most of the flex characters you see are hitscan anyway, tracer, reaper, sombra etc. Cheaters and aim assist just push hitscans too highly

I came back to OW during prime vendetta meta and even then i only saw vendetta once every like 10 games. Hitscan is just that prominent.

But they arent completely worthless. Especially recently theres been a lot of anran for instance. It just takes a lot more effort to make work imo.

Tbh if there’s an outlier hitscan that’s playing legit not really a big problem to deal with. Aa isn’t the end all be all people think it is if you have players that can use extremely oppressive hero’s like freya Anran or echo and just jump the outlier, or yk dive tank. Those guys are pretty difficult to land enough damage in time as a hitscan before they kill you. Same case applies to Cronus abusers. Only issue is if the enemy team knows they have a cheater as a win condition and will hyper target the person going after the cheater.

anyone is viable in any rank with enough skill and teamwork but hitscan will always have the advantage no doubt, most high elo console players are hitscan/flex hitscan for a reason, if youre playing genji vs a pocketed ashe or 76, u will have to try 3 times as hard to get the same value they do

Reaper can counter hitscan pretty well I think

No. The only flex would be Tracer :) Coming from someone who's been gm from more than 20 seasons

Wrong btw. Mei is viable, reaper is viable, sombra, anaran, vendetta, pharah. All are plenty viable with enough skill

Sombra even counts if she's banned every game? Anran maybe, but that pick is a worst Genji Pharah is a general no, everyone plays hitscan in every game and if dva isn't banned they will punish pharah anyway, and we can't count on a mercy giving pocket to her because mercy is banned every single game as dva and tracer

Sombra rarely gets banned in gm+ from my experience which is what this post is about. And pharah doesn’t have to hard peak a hitscan to get the kill. You just quick peak them. Its map specific sure but it works, you don’t even need the mercy pocket if you play right, and when you get the multi rocket perk online you have instakill potential

Ofcourse, this is all based on our own experience on the servers, an 100% is gonna variate depending on the server. In my case, I'm from BR servers, and the only thing we share with NA is the top500 and that's a little shitty because in br is the same 50 people every game that's doesn't play flex, only poke and hard meta with an impossible backline to dive in like a illari kiriko, illari nap, mizuki now that he's meta and jpc ofc I have seen sombra now a bit more with the added fifth slot for bans
